I never claimed I know your story.
I'm pointing out an analogy to show how ridiclous this tack is.
The fact that YOU said you did this in a supermarket made me respond with "what happened" and was it exactly the same, ergo, you went there and told the manager to stop stocking something and when they refused you got more impressive on the fact.
That's the exact analogy. Where in that does it assume I know you in any way? I'm responding to what YOU said.
The quality of the video game industry is tied to that of gamers. The video game industry is garbage because most gamer's standards are garbage.
Gamers get the video game industry that they deserve.
Pretty true.
The thing is, people don't tend to appriacte perspective and how things change as well.
Back in the day for the first couple of decades gaming remained a NICHE pasttime. It was still perceived as the realm of nerds or outsiders, and it was largely true to an extent.
But thanks to gaming's success it became mainstream to eclipse film and music.
So because of that you now have a WIDE market with masses of people. And sadly this means that those geeks or people who are REALLY into gaming are the minority versus the lazier casuals (sorry I can't think of a better term) who only dip their toes in and maybe play the poopular stuff they see advertised.
As such devs and publishers target THEM not us. Because that's where the easy money lies.
Finding truely experienced teams and products is getting increasingly rare as the crap products try to shame you for not buying their crap.
It's even worse when too many people buy the crap products, it just incentives creators to put even less effort into their work until they eventually become unrecoverable.
Or. And this might seem like radical idea. Different people have different tastes and not every product is going to be made to carter to YOU specific tastes or needs. And that's fine.
in this world, we only change the clothes of the same majesty, when the current ones begin to unveil his nature.
Cool, demonstrate that then.
Please show how people all more think the same. Because that's quite a claim.
People gonna like what they gonna like. You find this in EVERY field of entertainments. Heck there are reasons why movies like Plan 9, Braindead, Meet the Feebles, and Trolls 2 have cult followings.
and why there are peoiple who can honestly say the think the Godfather Trilogy is boring slop.
Right, many great games still out there!
Outside of that, "bad" games have always existed and always will. Doesn't really matter the reason why they're bad, it's up to you to make your own judgement on the quality of a game.
I'd keep a strong focus on the Indie space, since they're doing a much better job these days.
