Majora's Mask changed Zora swimming and a heart piece location just to be different.
System Shock had junk items but not to the excessive degree in the remake.
I think the Dead Space remake was just to change the story of the original to retcon the effects of the marker.
Breath Of Fire series 1-5
Wild Arms series up to mobile port versions, and even alter code f version
The creation of earth and heaven, better known as the illusion of Gaia series, including Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, and Soul Blazer/ Soul Blader.
Bloodnet.
The game has such potential. A vampire cyberpunk gothic. There's basically nothing else like it. It did many things before its better known peers and most people have never heard of it. The Amiga version was better which doesn't help. The PC music is ass.
Mix Cyberpunk 2077, Shadowrun, & VM Bloodlines together and you'd be going in the right direction.
Yeah this is similar to what I think too.
I have no problem with remasters and a fresh coat of paint as it were (like for example the recent Tomb Raider remasters). Because part of some games is entirely the mechnical part of how they play - if you change that, you are changing the game.
And when the first Tomb Raider WAS remade on the PS3 it was fine in itself, but not a patch on the original because of that very reason. Part of what makes the original Tomb Raider great is not just the atmosphere and story, but the mechnics and the fact that that is also somewhat puzzle solving. You have to work out moves like long jumps or short jumps before you attempt them to get around.
The first remake lost that entirely.
And of course another of the issues with remaking under the modern climate is depth. Back in the day when costs were lower, you could bung tons of content in a game for little extra resource cost. Nowadays not so much.
In fact out of recent true remakes, I can only think of the Final Fantasy VII Part 2 game which really offered something comparable to the original. Well, that and Resident Evil 2. They bunged all the extras and unlocks and more in that.
But by the remake of Resident Evil 3 they kind of were weak on content even thought the game's decent enough.
When I look at Shadowman Remaster I love the fact the audio is remastered, the textures are nicer, and they've also added content which totally unchanging the mechanics. It feels truly complete.
So yeah, I guess this is another one of those "be careful what you wish for" especially in these modern times.
Actually, everything about Onimusha 3 can be said to be good, but sometimes I think it makes it harder to hit because of the limited camera angles. For this reason, I think it would be better if they revisited the gameplay with a camera angle similar to the Souls games compared to the Remake.
Incredible hulk ultimate destruction remaster
Saints row 2 remaster
Dead rising off the record remaster
lost planet 2 remaster
Crack down 2 remaster

Small soldiers video game
Splatterhouse : one of the megadrive's best fight'em'all game.
Carmaggedon : you all know about that legend.
You two have an old school style that is pretty good and unique. Yeah, nice lists. I would especially like to see Anarchy Online and Lost Planet 2 again.
Small soldiers the video game was a master piece on playstation 1. I remember playing it and was very addictive.
you know how square enix are doing these new pixel remakes? i wish this for shin megami tensei 1, 2 and SMT if...
There is no real benefit in "remaking" a game -- and, more importantly, if it's just about graphics then it's still going to be an old game.
Thus: if I've already played the game before, I have no need to even buy it again. If I haven't played the game before, I might be put off by antiquated game mechanics, and thus I might not want to get it.
I suggest they just make a new game instead.
Fallout series.
