Swiss Franc to Euro / USD and Steam Price
I'll take google on this one:

1 Swiss Franc is 0.917584559 Euros or 1 Euro is 1.08981782 Swiss francs
1 Swiss Franc is 0.986252 U.S. dollars or 1 USD is 1.01393964 Swiss francs

Now I'll take I game I know the Euro price of since it just released (Fallout 4)
Yesterday it was 59.9 Euros so lets take 60 Euros
Now it is 74 Swiss Francs... thats a rate of ~ 1.25 (as in 1 Euro is 1.25 CHF [Thats Swiss Francs for those that didnt know])
60 Euros * 1.08981782 = 65.389 so ~65 CHF or 66 CHF

Thats an additional 8 Swiss Francs I am paying for what?

On a sidenote: It is acually cheaper for me to now buy a ticket for a "tram", take it to a store and buy the game there then to buy it on steam. (I pay 69 CHF or less! for a new game in most shops)

Sidenote 2: I pay 55 CHF if I Buy a steam key on ♥♥♥ (wow they censor other sites)

Sidenote 3: Not everybody in Switzerland works at a bank and gets millions a month!

Sidenote 4: Not buying on steam anymore until this is changed. I recommend anyone living in Switzerland to do the same.

Well, hopefully there's still VPN services and other stores where to buy game at a normal.

As long as the game isn't heavily discounted, and I mean heavily, goodbye steamsale.

Guys look at this :D Found this in another thread

Eigentlich nicht so schlimm wie ich es mir gedacht habe :D

"Steam recently converted to Swiss Francs in Switzerland (from Euros). Like many others, I was worried about increasing prices, so I recorded some of them in advance to be able to draw comparisons. Here are the results.

Interestingly, many games used a simple 1:1 conversion, which results in roughly a 8-10% price drop. Others used the current conversion rate. Only a few prices increased significantly. On average the prices dropped by 5.22%"

I would not suggest using a VPN to subvert store controls as it outs your whole account in jeopardy.
Fallout 4 is a bad example because it's not even close to typical; Bethesda have deliberately overpriced everywhere. Look at SteamDB's pricing pages (e.g. https://steamdb.info/app/730/ ) for some other games; you'll see that on most things you're getting a better deal.

You seem to have missed the question. I will type it again for you:

Thats an additional 8 Swiss Francs I am paying for what?

Small sidenote to the chart a already have seen: "depends what he means with %
% of what. I checked a few other games: Mass Effect is now 29 CHF, was 9.99 Euros before
Skyrim is not on sale"

That's a question you need to pose to Bethesda as they set the the price.

Not really, steam is selling it for this price so they really should know why it is this price. Complaints go to the retailer not to the publisher!

Not with the way steam is set up. It would be like asking ebay why a user sells item X for price Y. Or how on Amazon their are sub-stores by people/businesses/manafacturers that may or may not charge more than Amazon does pr the MSRP

Even traditional retailers have to sometime make agreements to sell a product at a certain price in order to get them directly from the manafacturer or in order to receive a better wholesale/bulk price.

If it comes to third party products, Steam acts as a broker, not as retailer. The publishers have full control over their products all the time.
Steam doesn't set the prices, it's Bethesda who have chosen crazy pricing. Look at the top 10 most played games on Steam:

CS:GO is cheaper. Football Manager 2016 is cheaper. GTA V is cheaper. Civ V is cheaper. ARK: Survival Evolved is cheaper. CoD BLOPS 3 is not just cheaper than it is in Euros, it's cheaper than it is in Indian Rupees, for some reason. Skyrim doesn't have a price set. Fallout 4 is the only one more expensive, and Dota 2 and TF2 don't have prices.

Tell me, what am I paying for with my extra £1.38 on GTA V compared to what you'd pay? What am I paying for with my £2.12 on COD BLOPS 3?

And yet if I ask a broker why a certain price is X they will tell me because Y. Looks like your analogy doesnt fit.

And if I ask ebay why price X is X and not Y they will tell me because person A is selling it for X ask him. If I ask Steam why price X is X not Y they say they cant say anything about their buisness model. The analogy doesnt seem to fit. Try again.
