Are you a In Game Hoarder? A real problem...
I can't be the only person. It's ruining the experience for me. I save great items, powerful items because I have this thought in my head that I might need it later and knowing that later has come and gone I still have that same thought and so I keep it and hang on to it.

A example of this is Molotov in Sons of the Forest. I need them for the more difficult ones, yet knowing it's a challenge to just use stone arrows I still follow that same pattern and never use the fire arrows or Molotov because that same thought pattern.

So I come to the to the conclusion that I am ruining my experience because I have chosen to fight the hard way unnecessarily and then leaving the game eventually.

How do we fix this. I don't do this in real life. Only in games that have the mechanics of crafting or building.

I can't count the potions, herbs, minerals and god knows what that I kept saving in the inventories because "I might need them later". And then finish the game with loads of them.

Yes, I feel like it deprives the fun factor knowing this.

I'm a hoarder of games. I have a closet just for boxed games and stacks of CD jewel cases.

I'm also a hoarder in games. When I played System Shock 2 I gathered every item I could find and threw it all into the same corner. Then I moved the pile of stuff to new floors as I progressed.

While I hoard things in games, it doesn't take away anything from my fun. It's more funny how I apparently don't need the heaps of stuff I collect. Though I'm one of those "every nook and cranny loot OCD" people. Part of the fun for me is exploring it all and finding stuff, so it's not really an issue for me.

If fights or such are hard or so, I just use the stuff, mind. Not going to make the game harder for myself.

I loot everything but cant say really used them, for the most part the games don't feel hard enugth for me to ever have a reason to use this items so far, and many times end up with pretty much all of it in my inventory, but never found it harming my enjoyment, using them I feel will be less challanging and less fun over all

I own double copies in places. Like on my switch or PS4, so yes?

I've found that the harder the difficulty the more likely it is that I'm going to use those 1 time use items and stuff.

Only terminally. I suffer from "But I might need it later syndrome", wherein the most powerful tools in the game are reserved, just in case the next boss is even harder. And then I never end up using them, because I already developed a play-style around whatever I had at the time.

And every single time, when I replay the game, I realize why the developers put those implementations in. The uber-weapons with limited ammo, the limited-charge magical items, the "command abilities" in RTS games, etc. They had put an easy button there the whole time and I was just too retarded to see it because "I might need it later". Not once have any of those super-items worked during the end-credits.

Too a degree, but I plan to stop buying video games in about 5 years, and plan to play only games that are in my library after that.

game design punishes you for not having the thing you need, and for using easements.

it can't do anything about hoarding besides limiting inventory. either you're floating 3 pots for an emergency that never comes, because you handle it with less, or that emergency comes and you're screwed.

if there's depletable resources then you're going to lose them to stockpiling and obsolesence. same as in a military.
I have almost 5000 games on steam, hundreds of carts and cds and dvds, someone please help me finish all these games

my WoW bank is also full of just utter old nonsense I can't bring myself to delete, JUST CANT LET GO

Skyrim and Oblivion I hoard all sorts of armor and make different bonuses on them same with weapons.
It's terrible in Green Hell. lol
Murdering way too many capybaras and ending up with a bunch of rotten meat.
