Stellar Blade for PC
I know that the South Korean community is more focused on PCs, and Stellar Blade is made by a Korean company, and I would really like to play that game on PC.

actually according to the copywrite law you yourself are allowed to make one copy for yourself but you just can't give it to anyone or sell it. and no emulation itself isn't illegal at all bc even the ps3 used it for emulating ps2 and ps1 games and the ps5 uses it to emulate ps4/ps3/ps2/and ps1 games. What does everyone think backwards compatibility is when it comes to video games? The backwards compatibility when it comes to video games is just newer consoles emulating older games on newer hardware.
I already said it. The issue isn't you making the copy. I believe the problem is you aren't allowed to bypass the DRM protection on the disc to do it.

I think they're saying emulating Bloodborne is illegal no matter what because making the pkg file has to bypass the DRM on the disc, and that's where making a copy from your disc is going to be illegal even if you own a copy of Bloodborne.

At least, that's how I think it works. I've been banned so many times over the years for discussing emulation on these forums. Not even necessarily just pro-emulation sentiments either. Just talking about it has gotten me banned 2-3 times (I think) over 10 years.

Well if I own a game copy I'm going to play it however I damn please and if my PS4 runs it like buttbehind in the first place... why even bother playing it there. And we all know that Nintendo games run best on PC as well haha.

PlayStation players are still beta testing. Give it time for the perfect PC port.

The PC port will probably have issues like optimisation though when it first comes out.

A simple search reveals this is entirely false.

Stellar Blade on PS5 has various performance modes, one of which keeps the entire game running at a solid 60FPS.
only on the ps5 pro can it get a solid 60FPS and barely anyone is buying that console bc of how expensive it is for not coming with the disc drive, but on the base ps5 and ps5 slim stellar blade only gets 30FPS so yes once stellar blade is on pc it will automatically be better bc pc gets way higher fps than the ps5. so currently the majority of people playing stellar blade are only getting around 30FPS.
Exactly. But not only for 30 or 60FPS, but even for mods. Who buys the PS5 Pro? The PS5 standard is already Pro and I'm fine with 30FPS on the regular PS5. Never complained that. Sony is really trying to be like Apple. XD

Emulation in and of itself, is not illegal. Ripping a copy of Bloodborne and obtaining the bios files required to run it, are both illegal.

You are, as someone said, allowed in some regions, to make a single copy for backup purposes, but you are not legally allowed to use that copy for emulation, it is to only be used as the original copy, that is, on the system it was licensed for. If the company issuing your license or the third party platform holder for which the title was provided on provides a method of emulating on their future systems, that is acceptable as they hold the legal right to do that. End users, unless otherwise allowed by the terms of the end user license, are not granted the right to emulate any backup (or original) on any other system than the platform the title was licensed for.

Your PlayStation copy of Bloodborne is only legally playable on a PlayStation system.

Talk about following the letter instead of the spirit of the law. Let people enjoy their games however they want after they paid for them is a more than fair and reasonable stance,

The fact that sony is alienating half the world of their games due to the PSN requirement. I feel it should not be so for pc players in general. Platforms like steam are supposed to be more open to allow people who can pay for games in any country to play them, but the PSN requirements is really dirty to half the world game players. I hope only Sony does such a thing and nobody else follows it's example of what not to do for gamers. As i said, i think games should be allowed to be played by all players. This should of never been a thing. im sure the games would work find without the PSN network stuff.

Now this is the whole reason people are searching for alternatives, and that is why the above disccussions turned into what it is. I can understand why people do it, but when the legal method is cut off, this is horrible to people in other countries that do not have access to the PSN. Sony should be ashamed.

They paid for a license that allows them to do specific things. They did not buy permission to use that license on unsupported hardware by way of unlicensed software. The additional requirements, such as the BIOS is not licensed for that purpose, nor is it legally made available for that purpose.

You don't have to like it, but that's what people are buying.

You can't, for a silly analogy, buy a car and then enjoy it by driving it through people's gardens without then facing hefty consequences, even if you think, in "the spirit of the law" they should be allowed to mow down hedges and flower beds with their sports car.

You want to enjoy a PlayStation exclusive game, buy a PlayStation.
