Because i up voted this : https://imgur.com/xWkyBvz

It doesn't make sense , is it a bug?

Several reviews seem to have been accidentally banned. These bans are likely to have been removed by now. If not, please contact support so they can double check your review.

When a review is banned, it triggers an e-mail and a cool down period. This is done to let user know their account may have been compromised and used to upvote scam/phishing reviews (reviews with links to scam/phishing sites) and give them time to secure their account.

As these bans were accidental, the restriction in the e-mail should have been removed as well.

Eh, seems like an error. I saw a similar thread to this recently:

EDIT: Yeah, could be for spam upvoting. Sorry, I'm an airhead.

Not a bug. Don't upvote spam reviews.
Theblaze Apr 18, 2020 @ 9:40pm
Why is this even considered a "review"?.

Even worse is when steam thinks someone use their reviews to scam someone

It's not a bug. This is mostly to discourage upvoting reviews that are in violation of the rules. But as the message says you can contact support if you'd like.

No one really had time to write long review as well.

If steam going to do this ♥♥♥♥ then they might as well ass "Short Review or Thoughts about the game in replacement for review".

It can be falsely flagged as well.

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cmiiw.

Like why the hell funny option exist then?

Because people kept wanting to upvote funny spam reviews, and push away constructive ones : they can still "upvote" the former, but as far as the system is concerned, it doesn't count. Short reviews aren't removed, spam ones are, so if you enjoy the former, that's all fine and dandy.

It was quite prevalent not too long ago. Hijack an account, change all reviews to promote spam websites or make new ones with the games at one's disposal, and upvote them using your bot network so they bubbled up the community tab and catch people.

It mostly grinded to a halt now, but only because measures were put into place to disable the steps above, one of which you unfortunately ran afoul of. As Matt said, if you disagree, you have a link to Support to contact them. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

EDIT : Removed wrong information

I got the one month ban on voting on user generated content too for upvoting this review

https://steamcommunity.com/id/anisotropic12/recommended/1151340/

Which wasn't trying to be funny, it was making a legit fair point that references that the game has improved after fo76's very bad launch back in late 2018.

Don't do anything Steam doesn't want you to, and give em a foot massage. You will be fine.

If it deters people from writing such drivel and trying to pass it off as a review then I'm all for it.
eram Apr 19, 2020 @ 7:35am
ouch, banning for you personally upvoting content on the site... If its posted and not removed and a regular user wants to upvote they can get banned from voting? Seem like a terrible fix for a long standing issue.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
