WTH? security picture to retrieve login info...
i already have an account here at steam. i DLed an old JC2 game from my amazon account. i don't see it in my library here. people here say its under a different account. i don't know login info for that account with JC2. not even sure if i had an account back then. when i try to play it the steam login pops up. so i try putting my phone number in to retrieve any info. and i go through countless amounts of security pictures only to click search for it to tell me i answered them wrong. the area of these full pictures are subjective to exactly what its asking for. if each tile has a single picture, the image is peppered with dots and you cant tell if the pictures with perspective have what they are asking. never had this much problems with security pictures. i just want to play an old game...
how do i find what i need to play a simple game?

You need to know what account you bound the game to. That's on you not on steam to find out.

jc2 amazon purchase required a Steam account to really download and play the game.

you should also have received a steam key with the purchase
try to activate the key from amazon again on Steam via "add a game" in the bottom left of the client -> "activate a product..." then you get a dialogue to send an email to the account that owns the game. then you just have to dig through your emails accounts. the other account might even be on the same email and just have an other accountname.

Just as in your other topic you keep going around in circles. You need to figure out what account the game is linked to and will need to do what is required to log into that account.

no, i am not going in circles. seems like nobody is actually reading the post. the other post wasn't solved because other issues arose. this post has a different problem of the security pictures...
and no i have never heard of a site that didn't retrieve your account info if one forgot it. that's just absurd.
i cant get passed the security pictures. as i stated up above.
i bought this game in 2010, even if i created an account back then, how am i supposed to remember it?
and once upon a time you were able to play PC games without a server. so i don't believe there was an account. but once again i'm not sure.

Steam has never done "CD keys" for offline use; it's always been keys to register the game on the Steam platform.

Sure, but that doesn't apply to Just Cause 2. Just Cause 2 always required a Steam account on PC.

Unfortunately, Steam doesn't do that anymore, for some reason.
