What single player games do you keep playing?
I don't normally replay games quickly but DOOM Eternal has become a kind of podcast game for me now where I can put some audio on and just play the campaigns again and again... how about you, what offline, single player games keep you coming back?

Mass Effect trilogy. I've replayed other games, but not over and over like the ME trilogy. Mafia, Mafia II, Dragon Age Origins, Bastion, Papers Please, Diablo 3, AC Ezio trilogy and the Deus Ex games for example.

ShadowMan is one of my all time favourite games. I regularly replay that every year or so. Even better when the recent remaster came out with added content.

Jet Set Willy on the ZX Spectrum is another (though I mostly emulate it these days because Spectrum keyboard - yuck).

Final Fantasy 12 is another.

Basically any game that feels mechanically sound but also has a great atmosphere is what does it for me.

The Long Dark
Grim Dawn

Top 2 for me^^^.

I play almost only Singleplayer games, and the ones with MP/Co-op options- I play only the SP side of the game.
There are others, but those 2 are on the top of my list, and right now I am working my way through my backlog so I can get back to putting more time into both. TLD and GD are my "comfort" games.

The Long Dark is a LOVELY example of a good single player game to replay.

Lots to do and changes each time, but impressively bleak and atmospheric. A truly wonderful game.

Cursed with bugs with every big content update, lol. The TFTFT DLC introduced some whoppers.
But the Time Capsule (Beta Branch) that lets you play older stable versions of the game while the devs fix the bugs- yes. Playing the very first version from its release into Early Access in 2014 is a trip- totally different (and better) game now. But it's nice to be able to go back and play older versions and see how the game has evolved. Not many studios let you play older versions of their game.

I keep going back to Elden Ring. For some reason, I keep getting drawn back to it, especially when I don't feel I have anything I want to play.

Ah now I must make a caveat here though - I haven't exactly palyed the PC version much as majority of my play is on PS4.

Ah, yeah. Time Capsule is only available on Steam- the only platform that has the tools that let them have open Beta Branches available. I own it on Switch and XBox One too- no DLCs on Switch yet because- Nintendo, and only the current version on XBox. But- I love the game a lot, or I wouldn't own it on 3 platforms, lol. "Comfort" game. If you do have it here- try the first version of the game- it's very bare-bones, but incredibly brutal. I think I lived for all of 18 minutes the first time I played that version. :gravestone:
