there are people that will wait for the steam releases and i think the wait might
lead to disinterest when it does arrive.... you can only be abused so much...
and lets be clear...
its the devs/pubs that are abusing the customer.. not epic...
i could be wrong.. but right now i am yawning at those that sell out
to epic exclusivity.... its easy to lose interest in games more
and more these days..
i am sure the game makers would do better if they put their
games on all sites... but hey... good on epic for paying bills..
Actually, that's not how it works here.
Valve doesn't sell ANY of their games ANYWHERE other than the Steam store. Not only can you not buy a Valve game on Epic -- you can't even buy a key for a Valve game anywhere.
Epic does the same -- they are the publisher of that game. They didn't buy exclusivity; they are the actual publisher.
lets put it this way...
classic cod stories could last 15-20 hours
you can breeze the new story in less than 5-10
What? If you play on the hardest difficulty, yeah maybe.
hm?
Not sure why you have such limited views on both older and newer times, but it's not representative of either.
I finished World at War in 5 hours. The Modern Warfare games were hadrly 8 hours or so indeed.
Well, yeah... but they are both published by Epic Games, so if I actually wanted these games, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to appear on Steam: Epic Games putting their own stuff on Steam would basically tell the world that their store isn't quite up to snuff.
i contribute epic games success to the fact they gave free games to users, who felt obligated to buy from them, i felt the same obligations simply because they handed me a few free titles over the years.
while steams success was simply being the only on in the market back in 2003 however you can tell that the meta of online games is shifting and people are becoming more consumer savory
i have never purchased from steam or epic in the past, but with all of the issues i see happening on steam forums i am leery to put any type of payment information into steams system. maybe your ok with it i don't trust the people on steam and there is some high rate of fraud. user who fall for scams are left uncared about by steam there is potential that user information is stolen when accounts get scammed.
this is just my honest opinion about it, i use both steam and epic, while i have a good number of free games on steam, i have a larger number of free games on epic that would of cost me real money to get them on steam.
customers are free to opinions about steam or epic, this opinion is mine , including my personal declarations.
As for the OP. Well if you're a fan of the Alan Wake games well then mor epower to yah. But for those of us who did not care for Alan Wake....yeah not having the sequel is no big loss. It'll likely be on steam at somepoint. Epic doesn't have the cash to lock down lifetime exclusivity anymore.
And put them to work on the smash hit Dota Underlords.
And they didn't shy away from hiring Richard Garfield, the man behind Magic: The Gathering to develop the renowned success Artifact.
Both of which are original IPs and not sequels to and established IP.
