Nope, I ask that there was no Windows 10/11/12 at first place so the Windows 7 was the main project to be updated, costs don't change this way.
But apart from not supporting, there is the issue of damaging! I will be okay if they stop "security updates" on my OS, but to make it stop functioning by creating new versions and publicly claiming the older versions "unsafe", is a deliberate way of damaging what works fine.
Nothing wrong with newer OS on the lines of protection. We are heading fast into quantum computing. there is no other way out...
We will also patiently await Y2038...
I see nothing wrong with Windows 10 running games even from 1994.
Our technology, advancement and progress are at the hands of the corrupt few, who changed the timeline and outcome we had in mind, they are driven by manipulative greed and control over the masses. If the same path was followed by honest engineers and inventors who really wanted to make life better for themselves and everyone else, we would have a different outcome.
While keeping that in mind, the current progress is nothing but running towards fantasy, picking up a stick waving it around and hoping to perform magic just because you saw it on a movie! Just because the word "Quantom" has been mentioned by a famous person or in a movie, doesn't mean we have to make useless re-skins of already invented tech just to sell it for more.
So folks, you keep living the dream, or the fantasy, but I really value what I have the old fashion way, let me keep my functional and practical equipment and pieces of tech which fulfills my needs, and don't force everyone to wear gold covered clothing or use golden spoons.
Definition of how Microsoft intentionaly killed windows 7, despite being very popular and very good OS. They don't want competition of their older window OS and wish to brute force new standarts , bloatware and spyware on their users with Windows 10.
It's very sad Steam bending the kne to them, not able to be independent
You replay to obvious Trolls.
They not know what issues are running Win10-11 on older hardware.
I'm not even sure if they notice the issues on their new hardware. Since the new hardware has a lot of capacity on all parts, they may not feel the background tasks constantly using bandwidth and RAM for data collection and updates.
The overall lag of the OS may also be less noticeable or just ignored by them and they suspect external viruses for it. (Simply one would do anything to deceive himself from the fact how terrible Windows 10 and above are.)
What you dont get on your 20 year old hardware is that hardware has evolved as well.
I have a minipc that Im pretty sure sure outspecs what you are using.
Exactly, and there is no "overall lag" unless you're using a literal potato that probably shouldn't be running Windows 10 to begin with.
Only Microsoft itself was able to make my hardware useless by preventing me from using Windows 7 for the thousands of projects I used in many years.
I don't need whatever is evolved at the moment, not interested in playing any game that requires 16GB RAM or 200GB+ storage, I find those games unworthy, they are usually heavy in graphics details but lack everything else that matters in a game
So the key point is, my hardware still works fine so does my entire Steam library as I'm writing this, not sure why you blame the planned issue in 235 days on my hardware.
