Does Epic Games support Windows 7?
The move is not entirely surprising, given that developer Epic Games announced in December last year that it planned to stop supporting Windows 7 and 8 machines once Fortnite Chapter 4. PC players have the option to either upgrade their rigs to Windows 10

From Google.

Most gaming client will drop support for Win7. If not all of them.

They will be dropping support for Windows 7/8/8.1 as well.

Closest you are likely to get to what you seem to want is GOG games with their stand alone installers. GOG Galaxy already dropped Windows 7 support, so that part would be a no-go.

Numbered. As in days are. It's only a matter of time before Epic too announce that they won't be supporting Windows 7. But you might be lucky, their feature lacking launcher might last a little longer before one of the updates permanently breaks it on unsupported OSes.
Take a look around for alternatives! Dont need to leave Steam
Can you move games over to epic like you can with the origin launcher? Or would we need to buy them again?
Windows 7 is a distant memory even with MS supporting it still for the moment win 7 is like an open door compared to 10 so using 7 just invites the baddies to come on in and epic games is terrible lol not sure if they know the meaning of quality over there at epic.

There is no guarantee GOG offline installers will continue to support Windows 7/8/8.1 indefinitely. GOG dropped support for Windows XP when they updated the installers way back when. You'd need to backup your entire library to ensure that that wont happen and keep backups of those backups so they're not lost to drive failures or data corruption.

No you cannot move games over to Epic. Also Epic is already discontinuing support for Windows 7/8. They just killed the ability to play Fortnite on 7/8 and the EPIC store is next, so they will probably kill support BEFORE Steam kills their support.
The Epic Games store client uses Chromium Embedded Framework, the same that Steam uses and the same that majorly influenced the drop of Windows 7/8 support as newer versions of CEF no longer supports them.
So, it's only the question of when and Steam at least gave you some headsup.

They did also migrate to UE 5.1.
Epic will also stop supporting it for the same reasons steam and others do.
