it has notice about incompatibility with anything but win XP.
they don't say compatibility mode can be used. actually win 7 has great compatibility mode for XP games. does win 10 has same quality where you can get 100% performance and no issues by just applying compatibility mode to any XP game?
I don't see how this one would help, because I don't have that kind of graphics card. Mine is from Nvidia and is about three years old.
However, for example, your pc breaks and you get Steam Deck, basically all yours games are playable on that system (Arch Linux)
What this means if you install popular DESKTOP Linux distro to your system you will have those games playable.
And it requires only one setting ON from Steam Linux Client. One Tick box.
AMD cards runs superb on Linux btw.
if steam will not support just because , it chrome also wont support,
at least, since we are locked have to run steam to play our games, then make something that locks the chrome functions, which i dont even use, and all we can do is ... play our games, which we payed for, and now we have to update our OS if we want to play our games, our library and all that.
Yes, I know a lot of you will be, "just update already". Not everyone is able to do that. Period.
I invested my time and money on STEAM, only to now, feel like i am being robbed . So, the games I bought physical , i install, but then i still need to run some crap on steam so i can play my g-o-d damn (this was a bad word??) game. I have games, now, that will be unplayable for me, because I am being subtly forced to upgrade my OS against my will.
Its a matter of principle, and i know many of you will not understand where i am coming from, but i still need to make a point here.
I used winxp 20 years. Valve pulled that crap back then. A friend of mine borrowed me his laptop with windows 10 for unlimited time, and i started to use it to play some of my games, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ windows 10 is atrocious, where i deny the stupid updates, and he still does , and now i can't play the games that were running fine.
I am now using windows 7, for my own preference, I repeat, my own preference and comfort.
I was super happy when i was now able to play RE6, which would not work on my older computer. And now my happiness is cut short for this bullcrap.
Valve, should at least work on giving users of win7 a choice, of being able to play their games, without the steam functions. Simple. A program that opens the games executable. Something.
I am not the engineer on that.
