In 2021 they lost 1.15 million
In 2022 they made 1.2 million
We will see how 2023 does, but their revenues for their size are very poor
To combat that they have abandoned much of their previous philosphy of no DRM, and now sell games with DRM including games from platforms like EPIC.
They still are FAAAAR less popular then Steam, EPIC, etc though.
Well that is a bummer.
It's so popular yet you're here? How contradictory to its supposed greatness.
My Game Library is hidden, so you can't see it on Mauglith's Account.
At least I think it is.
I stopped spending a while ago. I am only doing a trial version of GOG,
I haven't fully switched over. I only just got GOG? I'm not switching just like that.
GOG should work with Windows 7, since you don't
even need the Client at all to run GOG.
Did people forget about that?

GOG Galaxy uses CEF, same as Steam.
.... Much of your comparison in the OP is of GOG Galaxy 2.0 vs Steam....
And there are games on Steam you can download, then run on another system with out Steam. The developers choose to use Steamworks as DRM.
There are games on GOG where you don't get full access (no on-line access and some won't even allow LAN) unless you have the GOG Galaxy client installed. Some may view that as a form of DRM as well.
Same way Rockstar Games runs Rockstar Games without Rockstar Games Client.
It's i'm guessing saving your Games in two locations at once?
I don't really know. Must be some fancy way to do it.
They mean the games. You don't need the launcher to run games.
That's incorrect, GOG provides offline installers for all their games, which means no DRM. The integration with EGS through their launcher is something entirely different.
THat GOG And Steam are two very different platforms. THat's all. You cannot equate size and all that in comparison unless you take into account they have very different visions.
Steam is more of an all in one thing where you get metagames, achievements, friends lists, community posts, and more. GOG is merely a store and account holder. It operates where you get games DRM free too, so also is lighter for that reason.
An unfair comparison because you MUST take these factors into account.
And most importantly, different goals. Steam only cares about one thing, money. Things are a bit different with GOG, because their anti DRM policy pushes AAA releases away from them, and those are the money printers.
