"Even in a subtle way"
Posting here in regard to a Valve-to-Developer communication only meant for the 2 parties will not create any change.
People getting involved doesn't change these decisions.
The this begs the question;
Why have guidelines if they can't follow them themselves?
Chaos Head Noah was not a pornographic game. It was a normal Visual Novel with no sexual content that already got a western Switch release, that was the reason the banning did not make sense and created that campaign to reinstate the title.
Which was successful in the end.
This is a pornographic title were the rules are much more strict.
I mean they did that a few times in the past, most prominently with "Hatred" which was banned and then brought back by Gaben himself with an apology.
No social campaign attempt will change that. The Developer would have to remove the content in question, or make the thing in question clearly be depicted as an adult in order to be considered, if not permanently refused from the attempt.
Things like this is why no one should get involved, especially for pornographic games. Developer & Valve are the only parties that should be discussing such matters.
If you take a look at Valve's response linked in the OP, you'll see that resubmissions of the app, even with changes, will not be accepted. So the dev can't modify the content and try to get it approved again.
Thanks for the udpate.
Moving on.......
If a company sets out guidelines, it's expected that they will adhere and follow those guidelines. Otherwise there is no point to having guidelines if you're just going to arbitrarily pick and choose without following the guidelines you set.
