back to school sale?
Hey, I'm just wondering if there might be a back to school sale this year. I've been waiting for quite a while for a big sale. (:

Typically no. The next "big" sale should be the winter one in December, although there may be Halloween and Thanksgiving sales before then that are smaller in scope.
"Quite a while" as in a month? Because that's how long ago summer sale ended.

Steam only does two big sales a year, the next one being winter sale which should happen around Christmas time.

By quite a while I acually mean 5 months, I want cities skylines to go on sale and I had to miss the summer sale. anyways I remember steam had a back to school sale once and thought maybe there'd be another.
Hmmmm - maybe.

There's always SOMETHING on sale on Steam.

There are some really good deals in the Kalypso sale this weekend and if you share its sense of humour Goat Simulator is worth the small price they are asking for it this weekend.

Sometimes the publishers sales have better deals than the big sales so I'd never discount them.

Both the Halloween and Black Friday/Thanksgiving sales are now major events with usually hundreds of titles on sale in each one.

There will not be a sale of the scale of the Summer and Winter sales until now Winter.

But whether they might do a themed sale on the scale of Halloween or Thanksgiving - maybe.

My guess will be that from now until the middle of October you'll be seeing major sales of dozens of top titles either in publishers sales or themed events most weeks.

And matt. I'd SERIOUSLY recommend Tropico 3, Tropico 4, and the Tropico bundle if you like city builder games. If you only have money for one game I'd say Tropico 4, two and I'd go Tropico 4 and the bundle for the Pirate game. See my review of Tropico 4 for more detail.

Yes, the next big sale is just around the corner. Steam Summer Sale wasn't anything exciting so I'm not looking forward to buying at game unless it's a major AAA game like DOOM.

Theres places to buy it other than Steam.

@op, we dont need any more sales then we already have and if you would be a good consumer, the last thing you want is more sales, because that will backfire someday and then you pay $100 for new releases, so they can give you a 50% discount a month after release and you still pay $50 because they dont want to have bad pr because they dont participated in the groundhog day sale, which is a week after "the insurance guy stepped into the puddle"-sale.

the rest of the planet does not care if you are going back to school because the majority of the planet was in school when you slacked off.

And you... well firstly please don't reply to this because the last thing we need is to start another war on the forums. But All I really wanted to know was if there was a sale in the near future. Now that I know that cities skylines probably wont go on sale until late october or even december then I am going to be buying the game for full price, which is 29.99. all I wanted to do was take advantage of a sale that I now know does not even exist. Does that really make me a bad customer. no it does not. and like I said, this post is only to inform you so please do not reply as we do not need another forum war thank you.

no one with common sense announces sales or the participation of sales and no one with common sense would expect someone with common sense to announce a sale or the participation of a sale.

Steam has at least 4 annual hold sales, all are googlable. and there are other places to buy steam games. the entire year is a sale.

and yes, you are are bad customer because you obviously dont do your job of researching a product before you purchase it because then you would not have to ask for a sale and you also seem uncapable of taking negative feedback and call it "war" if you receive a tiny bit of contra.

-" you also seem uncapable of taking negative feedback and call it "war" if you receive a tiny bit of contra. "-

ironically this is how forum wars start. LOL!!!

So, for your first part of your reply you stated "no one with common sense announces sales or the participation of sales and no one with common sense would expect someone with common sense to announce a sale or the participation of a sale." So you just called every one above your first post someone with no common sense? They all helped me a lot with my decision.

I can't comment on the second part of your post because you are 100% correct.

But in the last part you stated "and yes, you are are bad customer because you obviously dont do your job of researching a product before you purchase it because then you would not have to ask for a sale" I don't know where you got the idea that I didn't do research, I did a ton. and why would you say I was asking for a sale? I was asking if there was going to be a sale because I thought steam did a back to school sale, I just made a mistake.

Anyways like I said before, please don't reply, I'm only trying to inform you that I am just another steam user, not a freeloader.
