The new blue Steam icon is hard to spot.

I don't know what the hell is going on here... maybe I'm just so used to seeing the old black Steam icon on my desktop... but I'm having a hard time finding the new Steam icon when I go to launch Steam.

I mean, it's nothing major... it just takes me a second or two to spot the new icon... but it's kind of bugging me.

I have mine put in the Taskbar, real easy to find there :)

This bugs me a lot. In most cases steam is minimized to the tray and my taskbar is a dark blue which blends right in making the icon almost invisible.
I don't know why, but I think having the lighter blue on the bottom makes it harder to see.

My taskbar is a dark blue color as well, yet I have no trouble seeing it.

Hmm, you know I never even realized you could put icons onto the taskbar. Okay, interesting. The Steam icon is now on my tasbar.

Agree. It is hard to see on Aero in windows tray. Not like just I dont know where it is, but it's borders become blurred and it's just annoying.

very annoying. They should bring the old icon back. This new icon looks childish and like it belongs to malware.

It's perfectly visible when hidden in the system tray but it does become a bit hard to see when not hidden. I suppose it depends on the transparency and color of the taskbar, though mine carries a somewhat orange color and it's still a bit hard to see the icon there.

I usually hide all my icons in the system tray to avoid clutter but for those that do not there should be a bit of an outline for the icon, to help differentiate it from the background.

Do realise that we all have a VERY wide and varying perception of how colour seems to us and that out of the whole male population alone, some 30% have some amount of colour-blindness. It's very easy for a person not to see one colour on a different shade of the same colour, but another person view it fine.

However, that said, the solution is simple - change the colour of your taskbar. A neutral black or white tone tends to solve all these ills.

1. I never move mine so even If I couldn't see it at all I could still find it instantly.

Honestly took me about 10 mins to realize that they had changed the logo. Was like wtf where is my steam shortcut.
