Can steam user set A$$ on his profile picture?
Ive read that steam is 13+ platform and you must set avatar, which suits for all age categories, means 13+. The question is: can the 13 years old kid look at this type of pictures(booba, ass etc.)?

When in doubt about using such an image, better to just avoid taking the risk and use something else.

When in doubt about reporting such an image, make the report with a detailed explanation as to why it is inappropriate (avoid one word explanations) and move on.

Keep in mind that users are free to report such profiles, and if Valve agrees action will be taken against them.

Keep your avatar family friendly. It's that simple.

And no, i wouldn't consider such content family friendly.

if the avatar gets reported and steam finds it in violation of the rules/policies, it will get removed and the account gets a cooldown preventing changes being made. the cooldown gets longer each time support steps in.

if you feel an avatar is in violation of the rules, report it and move on. if you are unsure if an avatar you want to use violates the rules, then it is best to simply find a different avatar.

If you were offended, yes. If you have children on Steam and don't want them to see that, yes. Otherwise, why would you bother?

as far as people's personal pics and avatars go i think there is an over-ruling 'I am 18 or over' thing to protect the innocent (and defend the weak) but the rest of us should bear that responsibility not to overstep the mark :monkeysnarl:

Don't know. It's up to the underage to set up their profile. If they lie about their age to an adult that means it's their fault for getting 18+ in their game.

Back then 1990 was old enough, now it's 2000.

I do not think this is about underaged players setting up their profile, but rather how to prevent them seeing things that they are not supposed to.

Adult community content is ok in community hubs where one can reasonably expect the game to be for adults only, and the artwork itself will eventually be covered up with a 18+ tag anyway.

Adult content is not ok when it can be easily seen by anyone just lurking by - especially a profile avatar picture, which anyone on this discussion thread can see, without even going to the user profile in question.

Simple rule of thuimb.

If you have to ask yourself "is this safe?" err on the side of caution and DON'T do it. The simple fact is running up against things that MIGHT be against the rules ain't a good idea and only serves to cause issues for you.

So you might as well just not do that.

You can set stupid pictures (I mean look at my profile picture) but just don't do anything obviously too sexual even if silly or otherwise.
