completely random people commenting on my profile and Screenshots/artwork

one thing I've noticed recently that profiles whose names and pfps i don't recognize are commenting on my profiles and screenshots, Usually with similar messages Like ═════════════════ஜ۩۞۩ஜ═══════════════════

its not that much of a problem, I've only seen 3 and those were months apart, i just wanted a explanation on what they were. and anyway, i like knowing why people are Trying to friend me through the use of comments.

They are scam accounts, if you dig down the rabbit down there are atleast 100s of them. I'm making a database of them, and if you dig even further there are recently made e-girl accounts that post pornographic guides, with no nsfw warning, make sure to report.

Yeah, bots and/or scammers.

Report, block, move on. And either delte their comment from your profile, or simple alter your account settings to stop it happening in future. Althgouh the latter may also cut out legitimate comments from users.

Yeah, I was retarded enough to follow through with one since I had tons of tf2 items, I suppose.
The spoofed login is actually rather convincing, be safe and don't be a dumbass like I was!
Luckily I had steam guard and everything up so I managed to recover everything.

Yeah, I got a random message on one of my screenshots too, saying "Can you add me on Steam? I've got something very important to tell you>>"

I checked their profile to see the entire thing was private, so of course I didn't add them. I also haven't heard back from them since.

I've heard that scammers are going around spamming links in the Steam Chat which upload a virus that steals your account when you click on it. So I reported the random comment for potential account theft.

But that was several days ago, and I haven't heard anything from Steam, yet. They usually send a thank you notice if they find something worth reporting.

Simlpy rule - if there's anything important to be told, Valve will do it themselves via their channels.

So ignore anyone else, no matter where they post nor how much they plead.

And don't worry if Valve don't respond back.

There's a mantra on here- report, block, move on. You got almost all of it down!
