Steam for education
Does steam support classroom steam accounts or would all students need their own steam account? We intend purchasing software for use in the classroom on a per seat basis. I.e. purchased for each PC in use. Pupils may differ from one month to the next.

Not specific support for classrooms. You could try https://partner.steamgames.com/pccafe

Classrooms setups get tricky because games are tied to accounts permanently and anything else might lead to a weird account sharing issue. You could ask Support and see what they recommend - this totally came up before.

Just a stab in the dark, but perhaps for educational games?

This was shut down years ago http://www.teachwithportals.com/index.php/faq/ .
The Cafe program is the only option.

Well, finally a class that students will actually line up for to participate in :-)

Does the Café Program work for schools and universities?
Yes. We designed the Café Program to be as flexible as possible. Many universities are using the program right now. We understand that some educational environments require limited access to specific social features and game content. We have added some school specific features such as the ability to hide all games in the Steam library except those that the local server owns a commercial license and other features that closely mimic our Steam Family View feature. These features are available in Steamworks and can be turned on by the site license admin.

its for a computer games club. best to embrace gaming in a supervised setting than ban it.

Thanks for the link, I will look into it.
