Sexual, borderline point shop content
I think there needs a bit more regulation on what kind of content should be brought up in the points shop, for instance;

A lot of recent content from 'pornographic' games have released 'avatars' 'profile backgrounds, mini backgrounds' etc. With some of them having rather over borderline suggestive animations from; Lapdancing/ Rubbing to the tweasing of underwear and bra's all within rather high in sexual content.

There are users in steam below age of 18.

How does Valve/Steam take precautions to prevent sexual content from being tossed either intentionally or accidently to the views of minors.

Yes; The games are behind a age lock, but the avatars/Backgrounds and your general community profile modifications are not.

Please provide an example. I have yet to see any sexual content in the points shop including my current background.

All you gotta do is browse. Youll bump into sexualizing material.

As for your background, is a good example of borderline sexual.
Character(s) Are practically down half nude in their underwear.

Best I saw was an animated avatar of a girl making a move as if she was going to adjust her shoulder strap, which could be explained both ways.

Theres a profile mini background of a female character rubbing their rear bottom against someone whilst a 3rd party in the background of said animation is recording it on their phone.

Some imagination you got there.

So?

Valve is not your daycare. The average age of gamers aren't children. Parents can manage their own children. And the things you're concerned about are subjective, as are your puritan attitudes. You're free to have them. But you can't really expect random companies or industries to enforce your values.

A lock any child who can subtract twenty years from the current year can bypass.

Use the existing parent controls. And ground your kids for a month if you catch them doing something you know they shouldn't be doing.

You're part of furry groups which are known to highly push sexual boundaries and rules with content uploaded, and some backgrounds you think are one thing demonstrated to be another is the problem?

Didn't even match what you think it is OP. One character is left to right moving, the other is just in the background. Perfect example of how someone wants to see something so badly, that they believe they're seeing it when it's not happening.

It's up to you to prove a claim especially when wanting to regulate a store.

If we're going to start "regulating" into more generalized all-ages rules for content, then it would affect the kinds of things you're into likely banning those as well, since they largely have nothing to do with the store. So as I ask others, are you sure you know what you're asking for by asking for more regulation?

Don't see anything that is remotely improper shown as an example. I can drive my car and see women in underwear on the sides of buses and billboards advertising bra's, underwear, etc.

Women in swimsuits on magazine covers in grocery stores. It's not illegal or breaking any law so why would steam try to block it?
Elucidator Nov 10, 2021 @ 7:43am
Valve already checks these things, from what I understand at least.
The thing is, what you imagine on the images you see and what it is really, these are two different things. Never mind that its fiction.
I mean, like what do you want them to do anyway and why?

Do you think if a child comes on Steam, sees someone in their friendslist changed there avatar, that they even care enough to look at it for a second long or more, and if so, would it matter anything?
What 'problems' would occur in these children? Is there any scientific papier I can read about children going haywire upon seeing a couple of clearly drawn fictional?

An image like this... is there any explanation to it as well, that it causes a change in a child's behavior or, as some others often seem to claim, traumatizes them? (without being programmed to get traumatized by such things up front) (not sure what you want to point to anyway, as for your reason for it needing regulation)

edit: removed unnessecary stuff.

I saw the one you are talking about. It's a mini-background. It's pretty blurry when you look at it used. Not used, it's not nearly as bad. Though I can see what you mean. THOUGH....

I have to ask you about your spread legged furry mini-background. It's blurred and hard to tell what is going on, but very suggestive. Sure it's fur, but still naked. Spread legged and very provocative. Not to mention his one arm and hand are motioning very suggestively. While, I absolutely love it. I do see it as being rather, Adult in nature. Would it not be wise to get rid of it as well?

I say this again. I do love it and will go add it to my collection (never to be used cause to many to choose from). Yet you might be living in a glass house maybe.

I love the Neko Waifu stuff. As you can see from my background. I don't think that steam should get rid of this stuff though. I think (and this might already be in affect) that background/minis/avitars from adult games. Should also be locked behind the same locks and barriers that adult games are. I would never wish for them to go back to the old ways and remove adult content.

In the end, it comes down to parents and guardians to help guide and decided what is acceptable for anyone under 18 that gains access to steam. Since you have to be 18 to make an account (last I checked). Then you have to be an adult. If you allow anyone under 18 to use your account. You are responsible for what they see. NOT STEAM!

:homelol: “Borderline suggestive” is not far from the most milquetoast nonsense to which one could object.

“It almost rose to giving one a feeling.”
you have to be 13 and above to make a account at steam..
