Anyway, the answer is simple: report the profile, explain the issue, optionally block ("ignore") the user and move on.
The personal artwork box isn't meant to share pr0n because it's not filtered by the system to my knowledge; not as strict as games are (for those you have to specifically enable adult contents). So yah, report 'm.
Of course, my real suggestion would be not to visit random profiles if you're so easily offended by stuff.
Yes, you can report artwork. You have to click on it and look for the little gear image on the right-hand side, above where the comments are. If you click this, a menu will pop up and allow you to report the artwork.
I regularly used to use Steam while at work (before I retired). Although that's not the only reason for people not wanting to see NSFW stuff. That's just a term, it doesn't mean they ARE at work.
In any case, the user can report anything via the methods others have detailed.
It is NOT abusing the report system unless you're being over-zelous and ridiculous. And in which case, Valve would likely tell you.
If there's evidence they will be actioned.
