Save from national days Steam hasn't done any sales for obscure national holidays ... or whatever this is.
Religion is shared by people of all colours across the world in the same belief. But singling out one group of people for special treatment just causes anger and hate upon the other groups.
It is a whole month long and is is just now the first of the month. New sales happen at 10:00 AM PST, so four and a half hours to go for the turn over.
Still way too soon to tell if there will or will not be.
Also, Steam wouldn't even know who to invite to participate, since they are probably not asking for team pictures when games are submitted to the store...
As for a sale, I don't think a black history sale would be very fitting. The month is specifically an event to understand their culture and their history, not really for entertainment or gaming... But yes, I know that black characters exist in games but doing a sale about it is awkward, no? Imagine if resident evil 5 was in that sale, what message are we sending?
It was a tie-in for a game conference, though.
Just make and sell games.
OP, If you want a sale for that, then you'd need a sale for basically all races and we all know how much people would complain about one particular being advertised/sold these days in all of this pc nonsense.
People weren't too happy with the "latinx" thing, a lot of people of that background hate being shoved into a generic pc label rather than just people.
why not a humanity month?
but that would annoy marxist like OP.
Not exactly studios, but black one-man shows or games with a black lead designer exist. And there is even a fund for them by no one less than IGN:

As said, there was a Latin American focused sale only weeks ago. Why pretend something like this can't happen with another ethnicity if there is a corresponding industry event.
(And it's not like the games of the current Quebec sales are entirely made in Quebec either.)
