Why are none of the steam updates fixing the login issue?

Steam updates too frequently but when one tries to log in... "Cannot connect" and the process freezes till I have to shut it down from task manager and restart it. It's been a month with this issue! Fix it already!

Sorry to say but that definitely sounds like a local issue on your end, not Steam itself. Which would also explain the lack of fixes.

And I say this because I never had such issues during the years I've been on Steam, so it definitely isn't some global bug or something. Otherwise more people would suffer from it.

well last time i updated the client i can still login just fine,,
perhaps it might your internet or something? tried restarting your pc for example?

yeah it happened to me also. cannot connect error appear. but do not choose retry.. it will freeze infinitely... you need to exit and start back steam client. I keep reinstall steam also the same problem. for now just need to keep try and try start steam client again.

Try this :

Make a shortcut to steam, right-click and click properties.

Under the Shortcut Tab, in Target add -websocket
e.g. Target = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -websocket

Launch steam from there.

Well, that's not al you can do. Reinstalling steam sometimes won't fix the problem. There is a better solution that works for a whole host of cases.

Go to your steam install folder. Delete EVERYTHING except steam.exe and your steamapps folder (where your games reside). Then run that steam.exe and it will reacquire all the necessary files, fixing any corruption or weirdness.

If the issue still persists then it ain't your Steam installation.

Steam Connection Error

Why this lately, everytime i try to login to Steam, it will say "connection error" even tho i have internet? Firewall already allow connection for Steam and SteamWebHelper. It's happen randomly... Is there a problem with Steam right now?

Who said that msg is not a ISP issue the route into steam from isp into steam server could be congested network area.

Try change Download zone, but that wont work if its your ISP that is the cause, you try find a lesser congested route to diffrent country. if you even can.

covid-19 all is home and use network, that dont help at the issue.

Other client works fine.. its not my adapter driver... origin, battlenet, epic games, ubisoftplay dont have this problem... i have seen many people suffer this problem since the latest steam update. It might be wrong with Steam...

Sometimes my pages look like basic html pages with no css. Cannot sign into friends and have done a clean reinstall aswell.

Been getting the same error recently. Happens when i restart steam too.
