So are you confirming this as the same game? Why would it be removed from my library?
A hidden game (a showcase of sorts) from back in the day, often used by pirated copies of other games that require Steam authentication.
Normal player CAN NOT play Spacewar. Only not legit / pirate / hacker can do that
9,235 In-Game
Many people use this "game" to illegally play cracked copies of multiplayer games online
That is not true at all.
it was banned by valve many years ago. If you can play it, you must be a "legit" player
It wasn't banned years ago. You can still get it legitimately.
Where is your source?

Rubbish.
Spacewar can be installed and played by anyone, it is a "tool" for steamworksdevelopers but it's in no way banned or anything like that.
Here is the SteamDB page with all info about it.

You're talking out of your arse! Whilst it does have some use with pirated games, I can very much assure you that you can indeed play the game, as shown by my game stats in OP, and by the fact that the games still loads and one can still play it.
The first link I gave (https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/sdk/api/example) is the Steamworks API Example Application article from the Steamworks Documentation talking about Spacewar! and its purpose.
The second link I gave (steam://run/480) is the steam link to run the game itself.
You can install it, you can run it and you most definitely can play it.
Spacewar! itself, the original game, was created in 1962 by a group of researchers at MIT in the US to demonstrate the capabilities of the PDP-1 minicomputer, and is considered to be the first widely distributed computer games. The PDP-1 is also very much associated with the hacker subculture of the era, especially within MIT. Its position in gaming history and association with the hacking subculture makes it an ideal candidate for use by Steamworks.
