How did a person on ark know my steam ID?

So I play on an Official pvp server on ark and the larger tribe in there has gone nuts and is randomly threatening me and everyone else as well as wiping everyones bases one-by-one in the hopes that we quit the game, but I don't understand why 1 theyre allowed to do that but also how they got my steam ID and if there's anything I should be concerned about?

No. Finding a steam ID is extremely simple and someone knowing it doesn't mean anything.

if your profile is set to public you can just google your self and it will show 3rd party sites that have info on your community profile even steamids. but they dont really mean anything its just a number occasioned with your steam account.

lol..You don't even need a site. All you have to do is type status in the console and it lists everyone in the server. Including Steam ID's

Your profile doesn't need to be public. The info is always public.

well for gold src and source games yes status shows id but im not to sure if this will work on 3rd party games..

For that, we have numerous methods to get a user's ID: direct API calls, API facilitators like https://steamrep.com and more, directly viewing a user's profile link in a browser or in Steam with URLs enabled, browser extensions like Augmented Steam, and many many more.

SteamID in all of its forms is public information.

Regardless of your privacy settings, everyone can see your Steam or account-ID and other information relevant to apps using Steam's API/Steamworks (mostly used for matchmaking purposes in online-games), thanks to third-party sites. However, they should not be able to see the account-name used to log into Steam.

can't you just view all players on the server and show their Steam profile?
at minimum there are admin commands that will allow that.
