How long does it take for valve to respond to paypal refund?
So I got kinda scammed by an online game that is on steam. A few things happened that just add up to being total BS. But the technical thing I can bring up is that the game had euro and U.S cash payment options. However when you go to checkout via steam wallet it forces you into euro ONLY even when selecting U.S currency and saying it will be 4.99 when in reality its 5.90 cause of exchange rate.

Anyone have any experience with requesting refund from steam via paypal? If so how long did it take? Did you have to "escalate with paypal"?

Pretty quickly normally. As in "your account will locked if you don't revert the chargeback and the payment method used will be blacklisted".

Steam will need you to pay in your country's currency. No way around it.
If you have a problem with the pricing, you have to bring it up with the studio behind the game.
what is "escalate with paypal"? oh i see when people think everything is instant, right?

refund can take from an hour to days (if you change emails etc) for approval. Then it can take 1 Day up to 2 Weeks for the Money to be on your Paypal account.

For me personally it was always fast except one time when i waited 2 weeks for the refunded Money to get back to Paypal.

Whatever you don't do a chargeback - your Steam account will get locked and your PayPal banned otherwise. Contract the dev, Steam Support but do not take such an action for the issue.
The support for the game is utterly useless and just gives robot responses, its why I had to even use the stupid cash shop in the first place. It is a straight up scam.

Also the website lists prices in U.S but forced me to pay the E.U price aka the market up U.S currency.

You can see what I mean btw. If you click on U.S currency then try to check out it will show your purchase in euros no matter what. Its straight up false advertising and pulling a switcheroo.

Also I have waited for 2 days so far, no response. Should I just escalate it to paypal which apparently takes the control or way to contact steam away from me. So IDK.

No, you should have patience.

If you "escalate" through Paypal, which is a chargeback, you get an account lock and the purchase method banned.
Valve does not reply to Paypal requests (or do you mean request a refund TO Paypal?). If you want a refund, then you go through the Steam refund process.

Doing a "refund" through Paypal is not a refund, but a chargeback and will end with the Paypal account black listed on Steam and the account locked for fraudulent transactions.

Valve also doesn't offer support for 3rd party games.

Try visiting the game forum https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/#games

You don't have grounds for a chargeback. If you do then your Steam account will be crippled.

Sounds a lot like ebay in the 90s when they wouldn't take responsibility for scammers but whatever.
How do I report a game for fraudulent purchasing methods then? This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous

The store page has a flag icon on it, on the right somewhere. That's the report button.
The fact steam washes it hands of any responsibility of scammers on its service, only to utterly murder you if you dare try and fight them the only way you can. Is absolutely insane.
steam does take action against scammers on its service. the issue is you wanting instant action taken for something. steam has to be told there is an issue with a game, then they have to investigate it and verify that the claim is correct before they take action. if they cant verify the claim, then no action is taken.

when you do a chargeback, you are costing steam a lot of money. all transaction have a fee, you dont see it, but steam does. and when a chargeback is issued, steam get fined. that fine is not small (can be up to $100+ per chargeback). this is why they block the payment method when a chargeback occurs.

That's inane.
You are shown the price you pay on checkout. Also we are talking about virtual currency.

So where exactly is the scam?
Prepare to lose 100+ games on a 12 year old account.

Good luck and god bless!

The account lock will not cost the games, there 'just' won't be an option to boy new games or activate keys. Not that I would advice the OP to go that route, but still, he would not lose his games.
