It goes into more detail.
Keep in mind that some game hubs may have their own sub-set of rules as well.
I agree with Malax. French subforum has now a megathread, always on top, which has turned into a political funfest. Problem is that, as far as I know, we don't have French moderators anymore (the previous ones resigned and were themselves involved) so I'm not sure that the reports I submit will be reviewed.
/Edit:
By the looks of it, it's -that- megathread. I'm not touching that with a 10-feet pool, I might lock it tho, as continuing to discuss it seems kinda pointless..
I might be wrong here, but the whole core of the issue is politics so it's kinda hard to keep politics out of it, no? Genderneutrality and all that jazz is controversial by definition.
Thank you, much appreciated. Let's hope that French subforum will have some peace now and will focus on gaming.
Yes, the core of the issue is that Steam French voluntary translators began a few weeks ago to use a highly controversial gender-neutral writing which is not used at all in our country and which is against academic language rules. As you can guess the reaction was and is still STRONG.
I'm myself against this very, very controversial change introduced by voluntary translators, but I don't use that subject as an excuse to discuss politics. And this megathread became that : a pretext to debate about politics. You must know that as French people we love to talk about politics. ;)
Edit : spelling
I do think translators should follow official guidelines, and represent the people though (I was a translator myself, heck I've build the Translation program).
But you're right, while a lot of issues are politicized (left vs right) nowadays, there shouldn't be any need for it. It's a gaming platform.
Sorry, I don't mean to go over the topic again, just wanted to share some insight as to what was going on since I am French.
I hope that megathread wasn't representative of the French population because if that's the case, I'm ashamed to be French myself. Ashamed.
So its not much of a representative of anything beside that tiny group
