Steam doesn't show the last time you were online anymore

It used to say "last online 15 days ago" or whatever but now it just says "currently offline".

That's the dumbest change ever.
I have friends that don't use steam that often so knowing the last time they were online was helpful.
Why change??

and of course, yourself.

Yeah typically people who are complaining about it were using it for malicious purposes. There would be absolutely no reason to know when someone else was last online except for what was previously stated.

If I nornally login Steam Store or Steam Community via normal browser, my last online date won't be updated as appears to my friends until I sign in to "steamcommunity.com/chat". However if I login via Steam Client or sign in to friends chat session via browser, it should be updated. Very strange.

If it just says, "Offline", it means they are choosing to appear "Offline", but might actually be playing. If it shows the last time they were on then it means they are really offline.
It's something that needs to be changed because it defeats the whole purpose of appearing offline if your friends can tell that you're not really offline by looking to see if it displays the time last on.
