Why do ppl keep buying games and never play them?

Steam sales, humble bundle etc. I buy loads of games on cheap with the intent to play them but never end up doing so and forget about them.

yea one of the reason I stopped buying. Finding the mood to play is one thing, and getting attracted to another game is one thing lol.

It's this and that.

For one thing, a lot of my games just "came along" with other games. I have no intention of playing them. Same for giveaways, of course.

Then, I'm buying games when they are cheap enough. When I buy a game, I'm almost always playing something already, so I'm not even looking for a new game at that time.

When I finish a game and need a new one, I can only choose one. Games might get pushed back again and again; I don't need to be "fair" in my selection. I can just "trump" my games, choose whatever I want with no concern for anything but my own benefit. There's likely to be a bias towards more recent purchases as well, simply because they are still in memory.

Also, I don't mind having a pile of games to choose from when I need a new one.

For me, idling for cards doesn't count as playing. Steam hasn't done themselves a favor by requiring people to add playtime to games to get the cards, which dilutes the playtime data.

Steam sales. Why not buy a game you know you'll love playing, even though you lack the time to play it right now? Instead of hoping that it'll be on sale again at the winter sale (or maybe something in between) I'd rather just buy it right now so that I can play whenever I got the time for it.

1. I have the money to buy them.
2. When choosing a new game to play from my collection, i enjoy having a large selection to choose from.
3. Steam sales, i just can't say no.

I know I got a bunch of games that I haven't played yet through a Humble Bundle I bought for an old game. It's likely that a bunch of other people do the same thing.

Use idle daddy on android, or archisteamfarm on pc.
Other idlers also work as usual probably...

OT: Claimed a bunch of giveaways, but a good amount of them was questionable quality stuff.
That leaves me with a good amount of games ill never touch.
Still like to collect more junk tho ahah, its addictive :D
