Yes, that's what he's complaining about (rightfully so).

Chinese Yuan ¥49.00 -> US$ 7.19
UAE Dirham 99.50 AED -> US$ 27.09
not that high. yep ... before you run into a wall, always research how hard the wall actually is
we technically have that since the beginning of multiple supported currencies, we even had multiple EU prices for a while.
every
single
price
is set by the developer/publisher for
every
supported
currency.
I like how we have to repeat this multiple times everyday.
They have a trove of data that they use in order to give suggestions to devs and publishers....and they tend to listen.
Anybody that tells you that Valve has nothing to do with it is trying to sell you something... PR.
I like how people completely miss the point of the thread and complain about contributing unnecessary information, when they, themselves, contribute nothing to the discussion.
OP, it has to do with people buying low from other regions and selling on 3rd party markets. Valve wasn't getting a cut, so everybody must be punished.
Mainly because I've posted it enough over the last 2 months and people should really use the search function before creating new threads about the same exact thing 100 other threads are talking about.
my example above is a dev that did not listen. it is completely off the rails of what Valve would suggest.
the point is to correct OPs misinformation on which his rant is based on. everything he stated is wrong.
Its just how it works.
You can't gift games at all on the Playstation Store and you sure can't buy, sell and trade virtual items.
So how is Steam becoming "the equivalent of the Playstation Store?"
Is this just an anecdote or do you have a story from a developer who was bullied (suggested) by Valve into giving bad discounts?
In case you haven't checked out your wishlisted games recently, there are currently 15 games in your top 50 wishlist that are 70-80% off. Those seem like some pretty good prices to me. If you want those games, you might want to jump on those deals unless you're holding out for 90-100% off.
edit: Actually, there are also over 50 games on your wishlist that are 90% off as well.
1. If your region is more expensive, you can always gift it to a less expensive region.
2. If your region is less expensive, then you can overpay into the (currency-converted) cost of the recipient's region.
Technically this isn't stealing.
