chill...
If you go to EA store page and scroll to the bottom it says EA access coming soon.
Couldn't imagine it would be all that difficult but what do i know.
why should they let a trainee and his 20 intern assistants consume $30000 worth of tax-returnable catering service to implement Steam achievements in every game?
that is not profitable and not fun.
EA has already added steam achievements to a few select steam titles, im just expressing my desire for more games to receive support. Why the hell would i care about origin? Like i have already stated i don't like having 10 different game launchers and EA knows people like steam that is why they're adding their games on steam. Not exactly sure where you came up with those numbers though...
(n)one. i would exclude c&c, the people that did the remaster did not leave Steam for 7+ years. they released games on their own in the meantime.
but EA left Steam because as they couldn't monetize their mtx and additional content around Steam. this was partitially lifted in the meantime.
meanwhile Ubisoft already does since years what EA now does.
their client as permanent DRM on a Steam release. and it is not just DRM, it is also their emergency exit.
Ubisoft can pack up most their crap here and drag you over to Uplay without any legal repercussion and they already contemplated doing that when they made deals with Epic.
those numbers? normal for a 50-100 people team for a day of catering and such dull and unfun tasks are not done by paid employees, those are done by underpaid trainees and interns.
EA does also not care what is popular, they care what is profitable and Steam achievements are not profitable. Steam trading cards are profitable, so they put that one trainee and his 20 intern assistants to crop some images for a day. that also does not require to change the game code.
and that is why every single newly released EA game on Steam has trading cards but no achievements.
cheers.
You're making a claim that a game is incomplete because a publisher/dev won't implement brand new elements to a game utilizing steamworks while making sure that does screw anything up for games that aren't likely to receive any continuing maintenance. Your argument that achievements exist on console has 0 bearing for steam versions as those releases were made with the console in mind originally.
You imagined wrong and very little.
