Visual Artifacts on Steam pages
Recently, I started getting some strange visual artifact on Steam, on certain pages, most notably, the Library. It started appearing recently, maybe a week ago, 10 days max.

It appears after I launch certain games (so far Hand of Fate, Risk of Rain 2 and Subnautica) but it's not 100% of the time. It seems to have greater chance to appear if I Alt-Tab.

The artifacts in question:

The little dots move as I move the mouse, but it doesn't flicker by itself. It also appears to slow down Steam while I'm on a page that displays these artifacts. It disappears if I restart.

Steam and CPU & GPU drivers up to date. No recent software or hardware changes coincide with that either.
Anyone else ever experienced something like that or could tell me what is causing it ?

the image does not cause it, it is fine.

last windows update was pushed end march, check for that.

I know it's not the image, I saw the dots appear on the Activity screen too, and while on the Library, once they appear, they do so on every game page, regardless of if it was the game that I last launched.

I'd turn off gpu acceleration in the steam interface settings, restart the client and see if it still occurs. If it doesn't then you've probably got a gpu driver/hardware issue (assuming it there is no underlying problem with the steam client itself).

This quote actually helped me with a similar problem right on the steam webpage.

I had just reinstalled windows 10 on my galaxy book 12. I'm using chrome version 94.0.4606.71 . I went to go to the steam webpage to install team ( so I'm not in the client yet ) and certain images/videos became incoherently displayed, kind of like horizontal lines jumping across the page. I have a screenshot if anyone is interested.

The solution was to turn off "use hardware acceleration when available" from chrome's advanced settings.

Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right direction.
