The current mature content settings don't make sense.

As you see above, I am ok with viewing games that contain violence, but dont wanna view games with nudity or sexual content. But doesn't the first option undo that? If I uncheck it it unchecks both, so basically I gotta either have both or neither which makes the 2 options below useless.

the first setting covers everything. you have to enable that to see ANY mature content.

if you disable that, you do not even see the 2 next options that are supposed to further specify what you wanna see or not.

It's just a way to turn 2 simple options into 3 complicated ones...
If you want to go the "nuke" route, uncheck the box next to "Nudity or Sexual Content." (I typically recommend not to do that because it's a rather broad filter that targets games like "The Witcher" series.)

If your problem is with seeing specifically porn games, then uncheck the box next to "Adult Only Sexual Content." That will only filter out games with the "adult only" banner on their store pages (AKA, the porn games,) and leave games like "The Witcher" alone.

Which is something I've already done and even posted a screenshot of it in the first post.
^ My post was just to give more information on the filters designated for sexual content in case it was needed, as wuddih already answered the initial question.

That said, I can try answering the initial question in case you're still confused about the filters.
The first option does not undo the filters you have enabled if you have it checked. Your filters are as they should be for what you want; you will see games with violence but not games with any sort of nudity or sexual content.

The first option is just there as a convenient thing for people to use if they are not fine with seeing any of the content listed below. If they are fine with seeing some, but not all, of the stuff listed below, then keeping the first option checked and unchecking the ones they find objectionable is what they should do. One doesn't have to go all or nothing.

Then I guess the description needs a bit clarifying. ' Some ' is really general term, and we are just assuming. Like, is the first one for half naked and the second one for nipples?
Typical poor wording on Steam's part.

Laziest workers in the world.

Need a typo fixed? Oh, no one has it on their to-do list, so wait 5 years.

The wording is fine, it is the reading ability of some that is the problem.

Not really. There is one option which - based on what it says - will show violence, nudity and sexual content even though I unchecked nudity and sexual content. My reading ability is fine by the way, saying stuff like that doesn't make you look cool or smart.

It wasn't meant to, the point is some have trouble reading AND understanding things while others do not.

Case in point, the "Friends Only" setting is somehow difficult for that person to understand. It is no wonder why some how trouble understanding other settings within steam.

There's "mature" and then there's "the 15yo adolescent boy definition of mature". Sadly, the entertainment industry seems to think that the latter is the real thing. Steam is no exception.
