Except for the fact that Valve has published multiple articles on how they have been trying to combat review bombing and have been discussing this for YEARS before EPIC ever even had a store.
So that theory is kinda dead.
Also its 100% transparent and its very clearly listed with a big mark when it occurs. It's also VERY rare and usually happens on older games, so trying to claim its for financial reasons are weak at best....
Yea .. I get it now.. however I doubt Valve is looking at each one.. cause if they were .. they would realize .. like you said.. there are just as many off topic 'positive votes' too .
I guess I'm getting kinda Jaded. and after all these years.. its hard to believe what people allow some of these indecent corps to get away with.. and its dismal that they want to flee to safe havens or have one made for them so people do not see them for their true colors.
Thats okay... I already stopped spending money here and have been looking for other avenues to purchase.. The only thing I'll buy in the future on this platform is DLC for the games that I currently have.
I have lost my trust in Valve as a company cause of actions spread over the years .. and I've lost a lot of my trust I had with them as well.
Oh well.. I say .. just wait till tomorrow comes.. gotta love what DRM has allowed as far as some of these companies using it for their own gains screwing longtime customers in the process..
It is good to know that my review will not be considered a bomb.. at least I hope.. considering I doubt Valve looks over all of them.. like they said .. they had a hard time dealing with all the influx of support requests over the years that they keep instilling more limits like the cell phone requirement.
I'm actually surprised that some of what these corps do is even legal....
I wish USA gov at least would make some consumer protection laws for the digital world instead of all this action to collect taxes.
It's like if there was more people just playing games than posting and being worried about what happens around those games.
Makes one wonder how much of an echo chamber forums can become.
People is mixing review bombs happening hard due to the first Epic exclusives (Metro being pulled, BL3) with the problem having been around for way longer. For example the review bombs for Skyrim and FO4 due to their respective Mod stores.
Heck forget Skyrim, people review bombed over the Horse Armor lol.
Except they didn't.
Back then it was midly amusing and not outrageous.
And fun fact: horse armor sold better than ever after they doubled its price.
Prove needed.
Moderators will remove pointless rants. Else there are quite a lot of *threads* the are critical about Valve or Steam.
Funnily I work in the IT industry so there's a sizeable amount of gamers around my daily routine.
One would expect the subjects that pop up here to mirror in more or less degree in real life conversations.
Except not.
Not a word about lootboxes regulation, the Battlefront 2 debacle (just people saying they bought the game on christmas). Not a word about Epic Exclusivity deals (word about them buying there on Christmas or getting their free games). Paid mod workshops, MTXs, Denuvo... Those don't get brought up in day to day gaming conversations (I do hear a lot about people's unboxings in FIFA)
Don't make the mistake to equate the level of gravity issues have over here to the level of gravity they have for people out in the real world.
The internet gets you ever so easily into a biased perception of the world that's hard to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
Here's a more factual, accurate based on actual numbers citation: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/442294/steam-sets-new-record-with-188-million-concurrent-users/
That doesn't really seem to be backed up by any facts such as that steam hit new records for numbers of active users last month, nor does it change their extreme profits.
People like you have been saying steam has been dying for years....
