all in all i want a more refined list or atleast a classic list with fitting titles/few selective titles to be chosen next time. i know it would be more work but it would felt like they would matter more to me atleast.
dunno what you expect, Valve wanted a 100% community award and they made one .. and with nearly a billion user accounts it requires a bit more then just trolling to get nominated and voted on.
with pure community votes, the award has at least a small meaning, not that i wanna elevate dumb awards and give them any, but when dumb and dumber vote for you, it is a tiny bit different then when a "professional" paid commitee does the selection of the winner and also directs the nomination.
when that is more a thing for you ... the game awards[thegameawards.com] are directly in-between autumn(steam awards nomination) and winter sale(winner voting) on december 6th ... and will be probably streamed on Steam with a small sale too. but the whole shnick is a money game. half of the winners are determined by their financial value or impact.
1) judges are selected, deemed "professionals" of the industry, and are very corrupt
2) the people vote and it just comes down to a popularity contest, not necessarily what is the best.
The second one goes against me specifically because alot of the things that I like are very niche and have no chance of winning, so I don't pay attention to who wins.
