It's waaaay more likely that someone you know in real life used your credit card without permission than Steam's database got hacked.. particularly since there aren't a zillion people complaining about it.
Highly unlikely the database was hacked and more likely that your card # was stolen and being used to buy steam giftcards or wallet funds.
If you claim your card has been used, did you see any added games, or etc added to your account? If not, then I would suggest contact Steam letting them know about the unauthorized usage, and proceed with the charge back.
^This, if you do a charge back, and someone you know used your card, their account will be locked down, and they get a email notification, and notification on the client, and complain about it, if so then you clearly know they're the ones that done it to you.
^This is also a high possibility, as it's likely this can happen as well if you're not careful. Scammers will steal other people details, that include their Credit cards as well, they buy things over the marketplace, or buy things to gift to people that paid them money for the games at a low price, or etc.. If someone got your card details I highly suggest get a new one, call up your credit card company ASAP do not wait any longer, have them deactivate your card, and have them mail you a new one.
1) your cc information was compromised on a different less secure website
2) that information was sold on teh black market for pennies
3) That information was bought by someone
4) that information was used to make purchases on steam
What even gave you the idea that the details come from Steam? Just because they were used to buy Steam stuff?
No one has access to my card, wallet, or PC.
I have RFID blocking in wallet.
Yes. I think that's probably what happened.
