Steam Bundle only available as gift?

i am trying to purchase a DLC bundle for Assetto Corsa but it is only available as a gift.

im not sure if this is because i already have the actual game and the bundle includes another copy?

if i purchase as a gift will it then pass all the DLC over too?

these bundles can only be purchased for yourself if you do not own anything in it.

you cannot gift stuff to yourself.

the bundle includes the game which i have, but the dlc is what i want.

when i add to cart purchase for myself is greyed out and i can only purchase as a gift.

click on the game in your library , look at the dlc box on the preview of the game, Do you see the DLC you own? Sometimes steam says you don't own dlc when you actually do. It shows correctly in there.

thats the point i want the DLC but dont have it.

ive gone on the website rather than the desktop app and got further but it stops me purchasing and says this

"Your purchase could not be completed because it looks like you already own one of the games you are trying to buy. Please check your account and your cart to verify you are buying an item you do not already own."

and i cant go any further

That is the way the publisher set up the bundle. Ask them to make a tailored bundle.

Hi SneakyPanda, I know it's been a year, but did you ever have any luck getting Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition even though you own the main game? It makes more sense to buy that than all the dlc separate.

nothing was changed since then.

it is still a "must purchase together" bundle and that prevents the user from buying it when something in it is already owned on the account.

i am not really a fan of circumventing systems .. but i guess you are here because you added the game for the free weekend.

remove it permanently from your account.
buy the bundle.

dont do this if you didn't add the basegame for free. you will pay for it again and that is just a humanity fail.

I refunded everything and I still can’t buy it for myself and even refunded the actual game.
