there are settings for your little issue.
And did you uncheck 'Adult Only', and 'Nudity/Sexual content'
I wish they'd just be honest & go ahead & make a "porn" tag. So that devs who are making porn can be honest about it & not hide behind broad phrases like "adult content" if its porn, call it porn & move on.
They have that. itr's called the Adult Only tag.
Myself, I don't let Steam block anything, and use my own brain to decide whether I'm interested in a game or not.
I have no idea since I don't count games that I don't look into. It's not a lot, that's for sure -- I'm still seeing waaaaaaaaay more "RPG-maker" gmes than porn games.
If you're fine with nudity and non-explicit/graphic sexual content, but don't want to see porn, then just go into your preferences and uncheck the box next to "Adult Only Sexual Content" but leave the box next to "Nudity or Sexual Content" checked.
Games like, for example, The Witcher series will not be filtered out by doing that. For a game to be filtered out by the "adult only" filter it has to have the "adult only" banner on its store page, and I have yet to see a game with that banner that looks like it was incorrectly labeled.
You obviously don't get the point, A human being programmed the algorithm it's not a 100% fail proof design, it has many flaws that clearly need worked out. I haven't once bought, liked or wishlisted any of anime or sexual only games yet they are getting recommended non stop, just because I like Japanese rpgs doesn't mean I'm obsessed with Japanese maids with no clothes on. Therefore why is the algorithm putting serious rpgs in with anime and porn games? Makes no sense.
Just checked my discovery queue, 5 of the games where "non English speaking" games, Never once bought or wishlisted a non English speaking game so far. so yeah I really don't think it's perfect like you're making it out to be.
Again, go to your preferences and uncheck the box next to "Adult Only Sexual Content," that'll get rid of the games that have the "adult only" banner on their store pages (AKA the "porn" games,) it won't filter out anything other than those games.
