From what I heard Vive and Valve Index VR Headsets Require SteamVR / OpenVR to work with titles. SteamVR is something you need via Steam.
If you use an Oculus I think they have OculusVR for that.
In any case, I'm not surprised, I heard the port for that game wasn't very good and had many problems.
Hope you get help there, good luck!
Also, ironically, the F***Epic subreddit has kind of become the improvised Epic Games support subreddit as well. Your chances of finding help with an Epic Games Store game there are also probably 50/50. The population is much bigger than R/EpicGamesPC though. The "Official" Epic Games subreddit only has about 1K people now, r/F***Epic has about 25K.
Well, why dont you ask on their offical forums? Oh wait, they dont have that either.
Well maybe try and get in contact with their Store Support.... Oh wait, dont have any.
Yeah, sweeney himself lurks around that forum but people kick him and users out of it, i actually don't think that's bad since tech support is not the purpose of the forum and it's on the rules
So i assume Tetris effect was originally supposed to be released Steam?
Even so it should've support other VR hardware instead only SteamVR.
'
Well The developer wouldnt care much, they got the money already from Epic regardless it sells or not
Its not an exclusive, Epic could add it to their client for free if they wanted since SteamVR is open source and not tied to Steam.
Epic Games is just lazy.
Well, since everyone came here just to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, let me give you the answer you need.
-First, you need Steam and Steam VR installed, just download steam if you don't have it and once it detects your headset connected it'll prompt you to install VR, so just go along with that, look up a tutorial if you need.
-Once it's up and running, simply go to your library in the epic store and click the cog near the "launch" button of Tetris Effect, and you'll get an option to "Launch on Steam VR"
That should be all, good luck, the game is awesome!
They don't have OpenVR in their client for Vive / Index Users, despite the game in question using SteamVR / OpenVR, therefore a user would have to get OpenVR / SteamVR from Steam in order to play the game with their Vive / Index headset.
Epic's lack of having an option for their own users to get OpenVR through them is why I call them lazy.

Who'd have thought that it's so easy. Thank you Jitsu for being the only person with an actual answer to the question
