1 File failed to validate and will be reacquired
I posted this on the Warhammer 40k Dawn of War discussion but I consider it a general question as well. I was having some graphic issues with the game so I went to the "verify integrity of game files" option. I got the above message. I tried several more times with the same result. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game and had the same problem. How do you go about resolving this? If you click on support Steam sends you to the manufacturers site, but I see this as being more of general problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure your antivirus isn't quarantining the file.

@cinedine Thanks for answering. I do know that in my settings all my games have what I believe are called "permissions, access, exceptions" I am not sure of the exact term (since I am at work) through the firewall. I will check the virus protection when I get home.

This can be normal, in some cases.

At the very bottom of the page, you see this :

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Important: One or more files may fail to verify.

This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.

If you are just getting the message, and nothing is really wrong, then it's probably just this in the box.

Graphical issue ? Yea, you need to post in the game's forum. Steam Valve cannot provide support for games they did not develop. You go to the game forum for that, or Help and Tips perhaps, if you cannot launch the game from Steam.
