Minecraft - no more downloads ever?
From some news sources I read, it said that we have until June 25th to download Minecraft. After June 25th, no more downloads ever if we delete game then re-download later.

Is that true? I though that ever if games later were pulled out, we can always re-download no matter what. If we have no ability to re-download, we lose our money.

Minecraft is not on steam, so how is this a steam issue?
Or are you talking about another game?
it's Minecraft : Story mode for which you have to download your already purchased episodes before the 25th.

Minecraft by TellTales that we purchased before on Steam. It isn't there anymore, but suppose I delete that game, will it be available to download again from Steam?

Ah, thx. Confusing, but not suprised since telltale tanked.

Usually you can always download games bought on steam, no idea if there is some new deals or such.

I have Adventure Pass, so all episodes should be there. The question is if I delete game later, will I be able to download again?
from the way they announced it I fear it's probably going to be a big nope.

Read this if you wish.

All seem a little vauge, but not impossible.

Dang, Telltale's corpse is getting real stinky.

OP better pop a question to Steam support via the ticket system and ask?

The only problem I can see is the removal of Telltale making the game completely unplayable, whether people can access the files or not. Like without the Telltale servers you can't start the game. If the game can't load the Telltale advertisement or the Telltale connection, will it crash?

they're removing them entirely, yes. It's a licencing thing, so... yeah it'll impact everyone's ability to play, because Telltale *doesn't exist any more* in the way that it needs to for that process to work.

OK, if Steam removes Minecraft which we cannot download later, we lose money? If that is in this case, I would twice think buying any games here. I bought lots of games here knowing that I can always re-download later if companies go out of the business or games being delisted.

What I'm hoping is that we still have an ability to re-download in future no matter if any games are delisted or out of business. That is why I put my trust in Steam knowing that I can always have games that I bought for a lifetime.

Steam won't be removing them from those that already own them unlike the other stores Steam already has a system in place for these situations and if you check the list of platforms involved on the official statement Steam is not mentioned there at all

Don't purchase in the Apple store then. I've seen more than a couple of games that also were removed from my library/purchase history after they got delisted. It's why I keep the important apps installed, no matter what.

The message on GoG was that you could still download all the games after delisting.

they can't remove it from Steam and prevent people from downloading it. period.

I read last three posts. I feel much better! I guess I got "paranoid" and went overboard. I apologized for this. Just hate to lose any money if we cannot re-download in future, that's all. Thanks!
