ALT-TAB from Full Screen in Windows 10
While I am playing a game in full screen mode, I usually have a web browser window open in the background. When I ALT-TAB from the game to view the browser, the browser window (or any other open window) opens in the left upper corner of the screen in a much smaller size, requiring me to resize the window and move it back to where I want it. Is there some way I can force Windows to open those windows in their previously set sizes and locations when I ALT-TAB to them from a full screen game?

Are you pausing the game.
Any windows we have had open windows remembers that settings.
If pausing of the game doesnt resolve it I can add what screen resolution are you using ?
The recomended?
The alt tab works for me so long as I have Steam client or window opened in the background.

I use the default resolution, same as Windows screen.
WIN-TAB worked without changing the background windows sizes when I had Elder Scrolls Online open. When I tried it with Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the background windows occupied the entire screen except for the task bar, so I couldn't position the cursor to resize them. I had to use the keyboard ALT-Space menu to resize them.
ALT-TAB or Win-TAB always works; the problem is the changing sizes of the background windows.

if you use scaling in windows, set it to 100% and try to reproduce this issue.
You could try alt tabbing out the game and make the web browser full screen and then press F5

This should refresh the page and make it open full screen each time after.

Scaling is set to the Windows default of 125%

I prefer to use browser & mail windows at less than full screen sizes.

What about running the game in a borderless window? That'll pretty much solve it.
