Developers spamming positive reviews and attacking players...Why no Report option?
I recently bought a game called Beat , The game

I played it and it seemed unfinished. There was also a false statement that implied more than one stage in the game ( in the "help" text) . As far as I can tell there was only one stage. Which is a bit of a problem because that could push you over 2 hours if you played first stage assuming there would be more (althought the game is barely 90 minutes)

So I left a negative review for it which honestly was a rather constructive. I thought it would be a good game if it recived more updates.

Next thing you know there are like 10 positive reviews with 0.1-0.4 playtime with few lines of text while 1 hour negative reviews are aggressively downvoted.

I can't know for sure obviously but it sure seems like developers are trying to cheat the store filters. ( mostly positive reviews ) at the expense of people who bought the game.

So I decided that I should report it and there is no report button for that specificly. Isn't playing the filters agaist the rules? Honestly , It is just sad when you buy a game and then get attacked for giving constructive feedback.

and your point?

You think Valve cares. Butthurt developers have been silencing negative feedback for years now.

I guess most of them are now exploiting the new review algorithm to flush out all or most of the negativity.

You can report on the store page or the individual reviews if you think there is something wrong with it.

If there is only one level, you might have a good case against considering this blurp:
You create new combinations of sounds with your portable holographic music mixer complete with volume faders and effects. After collecting all the sounds, you will perform a live show. If the audience likes it enough, you can advance to the next level.

But note that "short" isn't really a reason to refund.

Well I am not gona guess around which review is fake. There are few of those for this game but sometimes they go up to 30 or more.

It just seems to me that store filters need some requirments to make it harder for them. Maybe minimum playtime to register a review.

Harder for what? The review system is broken.

You either get butthurt devs who try to hide or delete negative reviews or trolls who make garbage positive reviews that don't make sense or explain anything for that matter.

Just move on as I'm sure most individuals will figure out the game isn't that good even if has mostly "positive" reviews.

Just a correction there, developers can't delete reviews. They can flag them and Valve will look into it, but they can't removed them. Flagging only gives the warning and prevents it from showing on the front page, though it can still be seen by looking through the reviews.

Why does everyone assume "I don tlike a game and thus any other positive reviews must be scams"

Why does everyone read between the lines instead of the context of the thread.

I did not even hate the game. It was obviously not finished if you played it yourself. Go read the positive reviews for the game , look at the amount of reviews of those users and look at the playtime. All of those came around the same time and downvoted negative reviews.

i am struggling to say this in the most polite way without offending anyone but it does need to be said.

to make a post complaining about how outrageous it is someone did an injustice is the definition of 'butthurt'. so if you think your being edgy by trying to shoot subtle insults about a developer being in the same state as you its a bit ironic dont you think?

This is stuff that happens in the world. Like taxes. Nobody likes 'em, but we just put up with them because there's no better alternative currently.

It's one of the downsides of developers having access to free keys for their games.

Between (some) players review bombing and (some) developers manipulating the review score, the entire review system is in need of an overhaul. I'd start by not counting reviews from players who refunded the game (it's not without downsides) and reviews from anyone who did not *buy* the game on Steam. It would reduce the noise a little.

You are always trying to derail threads like this one. I wonder what your problem is.

The DayZ forum is pretty much the same, All these guys with 0 rep and privtae profiles hyping up the game and squashing anyone who says anything negative.

Great idea. Why not go further and prohibit negative reviews altogether? After all, EVERY game is the best ever.

What's the matter, can't find anything to attack them about?
