How about answering my question?
Thank you. That's what I thought. I appreciate the answer.
"Is this the same as pre-purchasing a game?
No. Early Access is a full purchase of a playable game. By purchasing, you gain immediate access to download and play the game in its current form and as it evolves. You keep access to the game, even if the game later moves from Early Access into fully released."
you normally get updates in the whole development process. and in normal cases, the game will just be declared as finished(leaving early access) with one of those updates ... or not.
I did a search on steam but it came up with a vague answer thus I asked question. Thanks again for your help.
Thanks!
you get the released version for free. it makes converts your existing version into the released version.
You also get all major updates during the development cycle without paying more and usually (not always) what you pay is less then what it would be at release.
and to others ....people dont buy early access games to be testers. most people buy them for the same reasons they buy full releases, because what they see looks like fun. so if you dont like early access stop being an emo salty teared ♥♥♥♥♥ about it and just dont buy them
Yep
Keep in mind the devs are under no obligation to finish the game or even offer a single update. Its 50 50 in my opinion whether you will ever see a complete game and im being kind. Be prepared for very buggy to tech demo level quality that may never be worked on. You see enough instances of this to be worried about it. Only a handful of titles are really ever completed.
Music wars was one such example. Has severely restrictive drm thst is run off the devs own pc. He had no idea the online drm was down for 7 months until he he recently decided to check on the steam forums.
Yeah, take for instance a comparison between ARK:Survival and DayZ. ARK:Survival is leaving early access on Aug 8 from what I've read, whereas DayZ will probably not leave early access since the devs don't care.
