Stuck on black screen on game start-up

I've been playing this game with no problems before today just last weekend. Now today I connected a new second monitor to my PC and the game won't boot up anymore.

I haven't changed anything else on my system. I've removed all mods, verified all game files, re-installed graphics drivers, tested all other games run fine, and even disconnected the second monitor.

The game starts up but then just hangs on a black screen with the sparx cursor. I can move around the cursor but can't Alt+F4 and I have to close the game through task manager.

I've searched for the past two hours for solutions on google, steam, reddit, discord, but nothing has made it work again.

Had the same problem. What fixed it for me was right clicking on the game from my library, going to properties and putting ' -WinX=0 -WinY=0 ' (don't add the ' on either side) in launch options.
Game was not made for anymore than a single monitor connected for some reason.

Anyone finding this in the future: it seems to be fixed now after I deleted the 6 “bumper” video files from the Movies folder (the videos that play at the start of the game)
