Molten crater Supercharge not working

you know the section with the yellow egg thief? yeah the supercharge track doesn't work. maybe i am missing something and i have to turn it on but i cant find any info about that

yeah, its not broken or anything. The Tiki dude only switches it on when you get to the second thief. Just chase the first thief like normal until you get him, just takes a little while.
