How to catch egg thieves
Those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ run about as fast as Spyro when charging, while sporting some tight turn radius. Any pointers?

Memorize his pattern. You can gain a bit of ground when he turns.

Had issues with the gamepad dead zone so I just did them with the keyboard and stop loosing time while turning :P

First thing is to memorize their pattern and try to run on the inside of their turn radius. If you find that you are able to get really close to them then try flaming them. If I don't think I will be able to hit them with a charge attack I'll let out a little flame and that usually does the trick. Which egg thieves are you struggling with? There are some tough ones in the third game.

Haha I'm going to assume you've never played Spyro until now? yes those little devils were responsible for lots of shouting and swearing for sure back in the day. As for catching them well all I can suggest is, try and cut them off each time they turn, if you keep running after them the normal way you're not going to get very far.

Thanks for the info guys. Some old-school game design without menial upgrades is actually refreshing!

I'll try to get them using a mouse. Charging & precise turns isn't exactly fun with a gamepad (can't imagine the pain analog-less PS gamers had to go back in the day).

i grew up playing Spyro on PS1 (no, not mini, chunkier older brother) and never had trouble catching the little buggers playing with a controller, so it's not about the controller but the experience of growing up playing those classic games when they weren't classics yet.

I use the gamepad arrows (dpad), not the analog sticks, the PS1 way, and it works just fine (tho no deadzone at all and using a PS4 gamepad).
