How is Spyro 1?
I never played Spyro 1. How does it compare to Spyro 2 & 3?

If you want pure platforming it's one of the best there is.

There's barely any platforming outside of tree tops. All you do is collect gems on the ground.
You're a dumbass

A real platformer is like Crash Bandicoot. Spyro is a collect-a-ton, and a collect-a-ton is extremely boring and repetitive if there is nothing interesting in it. There real dumbasses are the ones who call it a platformer.

This is like saying the only real RPG game is Oregon Trail and people calling Elder Scrolls an RPG are stupid for not calling it an action game. Platforming is inherent to Spyro's gameplay. Collecting a ton of stuff is also inherent to Crash Bandicoot's gameplay. Both could be considered both. No one is stupid for referring to either one either way. Language nazi's are idiots though.

I'm guessing you didn't have siblings to learn how irrelevant it is who hits who first?

Please point me to where I called you an a**hole. And again, it really makes no difference who does what. That's the problem so many people are starting to have. They think doing wrong is ok if they can frame themselves as the victim in their minds. Being a victim does not give you a right to retaliation. We have a lot of people in the world who think otherwise, and that's dangerous because "victim" is often a matter of perspective. Not always, but often. If a person starts beating the hell out of another person randomly, then the person being assaulted shoots the attacker and the attacker dies, who is the victim? Both people did wrong. Is one more a victim than the other? Based on what? Who attacked first? Or who lost more?

People gotta stop this insane "violence/hate is ok under these circumstances" kind of thinking that's spreading. That ♥♥♥♥ is how mass murder and genocide happens when enough people are living life thinking that way.

Like I said, point me to where I called you an a**hole. You quoted something, but not me calling you an a**hole.

I'm just going to guess WhateverWorks is in the right since the other user seemingly deleted all their comments.
Ps. Spyro is a platformer, it has platformer elements in it.

Or got moderated somehow

But all this kind of went offshore from the OP question :P

In Reignited, all 3 have the same gameplay, while on PS 1st one was more 'rigid'

1st has no real NPC outside balloonists, no 'quest', just pure navigation/collection, but that's how it all started :)

I deleted my comments. But anyway just because it started as an empty repetitive gem collector with no interesting characters or any sign of story does't mean that the franchise should never evolve beyond Spyro 1. You can't swim, you can't climb, you can't do anything exciting in the first game and the platforming was always easy and few and far between compared to everything else. So what else is left in Spyro 1? It's like saying that GTA should have never evolved beyond GTA 3. It just makes no sense to me. I personally can't think of a single thing that is better in the first game than in 2 and 3.

Nobody argued against change/evolution

Forced backtracking? :P

So you only play linear games? You never played a survival horror or an open world game ever before? Just because you don't like back tracking to another level where you can now do something you couldn't do previously that doesn't mean it's a bad game design. I rather back track to a previous level and do something new than to do the exact same thing on every new level.

It's not my case, but was reported by several people on these forums as something that matters

You're assuming to much about people you're talking to

So it's better to do the same boring gem collecting on every level than to backtrack somewhere where you can do something new and different?
