Technical issues?
Hey there :-)
I remember loving this game on PS4 but when I bought the game a year ago(?) I also remember some crashing. I also remember looking up my problem and found out that
a) the PC port struggles from technical issues and
b) they never fixed anything (something like the studio involved doesn't excist anymore?!)

Is there by now a good work-around for crashing? (if I indeed remember correctly and this was rather common)

I love Spyro so much and I need a "cute"/"nice" game at the moment.

The main issue I've heard of is that a couple specific parts sometimes don't work properly at certain frame rates, which can be solved by changing the frame rate in the options menu.

This thread covers solutions for the crashing issue that some people have experienced:

The only issues I personally experienced throughout the trilogy were frame drops during loading screens and a couple minor instances of it during gameplay in the third game. I would definitely recommend it.

So what is the frame number I should try? (did you give the correct link? Aren't they talking about specs?)

60 or sometimes 30, but most of the time you shouldn't be impacted

If you are going to play the game at 60/75 frames per second, I suggest you to set the framerate to Unlimited and turn on V-Sync (or use your video card or even Rivatunner Statistics Server) for limiting the framerate to 60/75. Since the stairs/wall on Alpine Ridge stage (Spyro 1) will become stuck if you use the in game FPS cap for 60/120 frames, and maybe more problems occurs.

If your PC is capable to run the game at even more frames, set to Unlimited with V-Sync OFF and cap the framerate to 120 fps with your video card or RTSS, since Spyro can slide at framerates above 120fps.

Also, for some people the collection has problems with save file deleting progress or corrupting game habilities when you go offline, so I recommend to manually do a back up of your save file (FalconSave.106.sav) each time you will stop playing, just in case. Backup the save file with larger size, it should be your current save:

- Steam save folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<YOUR STEAM ID>\996580\remote\Falcon\Saved\SaveGames
- AppData save folder (this is a hidden folder):
C:\Users\<WINDOWS USER>\AppData\Local\Falcon\Saved\SaveGames

As for the crashing problem, there's one related to the internet, this should solve that:

Jesus christ o_O I really don't know if I want to deal with stuff like that?!

Thanks for the warning but that is one truely pathetic technical state, no?

Yeah, these problems should have been addressed long ago, but it's Activision.
I'm still playing Spyro 3, but except for the Alpine Ridge bug, none of the others problems have happened to me.

You'd likely never have to deal with any of the issues listed in this thread. Almost any game could seem to be in a very poor technical state if one were to lay out every reported issue like that without keeping in mind that the majority of players never run into any of them.

I personally clocked almost 40 hours completing the trilogy and never ran into any issues that affected my progress or enjoyment at all, and I didn't take any of the precautions listed in the comment you quoted. That stuff is really only necessary if you want to essentially guarantee that you won't encounter any issues whatsoever. But most people don't encounter them either way, and there are known solutions for those who do.

Yes. The solutions are in the third comment in the thread I linked.
