Is Crystal Flight supposed to be this frustrating?
Like, I'm running at 1080p 60 fps but a lot of the timing seems to be very tight and frustrating.
Is this because of all the physics being bound for 30 fps, or is the stage no different at that frame rate?

Most of the flight stages in Spyro 1 are incredible frustrating.
You basically have to be perfect from second 1 to make it with any time left.
There are threads with hundreds of replies on Reddit how much people hate these stages.

Apparently it will get a lot easier in Spyro 2.

If it really annoys you since you need all the gems for the perfect ending, just use a trainer that freezes the timer in these stages.

Or look for videos of people doing it... And follow the route

try race the blue footed I'm 100% sure few rings miss place and First rocket power up fails to work at random points

just wasted 2 hours on it and it fail because i can't get lucky enough

(FYI sometime goal rings fail ding when i fly through them and make me lose even when im in 1st just because i was fly to fast) (note:flying to fast in a flying race)

For what it's worth there are some hit box issues if the game is run at anything other than 30fps.

No, there are no issues, WATCH THE DAMN VIDEO.

Is completing that level required to progress through the game? I just got to the hub level Crystal Flight is in but haven't done it yet.

The balloonist will tell you the requirement to progress.

You may as well since fully completing the flight levels are required for 100%, but they're not required for finishing the game if you don't care about 100% and just want to beat the final boss and see the ending.

There's no need to be aggressive. And for the record both my brother and I have 100% the trilogy and both of us found some hit boxes failing to register and jumps impossible to make unless we had the game at 30fps. I'm not saying that's the case for this player, but it would also be wrong to rule it out entirely.

I 100% original 3 on my old PS and was easier than remastered like I noticed not all races rings are in right spots and hit boxes for everything on speedway are bit looser than orginal

Are they a bit harder than in the original? Yes, but not by that much if you ask me, especially once you get the hang of the slightly different handling of the flight levels. That said, Spyro 3 Reignited does lack the dynamic difficulty that the original Spyro 3 had so that may have something to do with it too.

Dude in bluefoot race I tested 5 times if go fast enough (it racd keep this in mind) there a chance for green ring to not ding

If try best to be as precise movement to maximize your speed with speed boost or rockets there a chance they will not work

Speedways over all bit harder but not as buggy or Punish you for be fast

Flight Stages were always frustrating and despite the higher framerates I actually found them a lot harder this time when compared to the original. I was playing Spyro 2 but I had to stop playing it as I was getting really frustrated with the Flight Stages there, even more so than this one.
